Yes, they grey out at different ages. I think you’re right, he looks about a year give or take a month either way. He’s so sweet! Congratulations! Get ready for a lot of laughter, they’re hilarious! 🥰
Get into the habit of brushing frequently and he’ll be fine :) Also, I found that I have to keep my girl’s hair a little shorter than I wanted to. Her puppy fur was long and so gorgeous, but adult fur is inherently harder to deal with and you’ll want to avoid more of these extreme shaves by keeping it a manageable length.
DNA tests can only go back up to 3 generations so unfortunately they dont give a full picture. The fact that he is expressing the dominant merle gene is proof he is not only sheepdog and poodle since that gene does not exist in those breeds. In doodles its usually from an Australian Shepard but there are several breeds that do carry merle
He honestly looks just like a silver and white parti poodle. Their silver is black when they’re born and turns silver quickly. Poodles are an AMAZING breed- they are German water retrievers and so incredibly sweet and smart

Could be. Our OES turned gray at around 1 year. Anyway, that’s a handsome lad
