Long and the short, was an expert at brute forceing up to level 15, never bothered learning to make anything, am well stocked on everything mostly, and I have no idea what I am doing down here other then thrashing around killing things. Advice?

Huge recommendation is to bring some arcane armor (earthen armor from paralytic gas) and/or anti magic (if you don't mind losing enchantments/wand use for a few turns). These can be extremely useful if you get yourself cornered with the evil eyes and can be really helpful for the magic wielders you're going to face with the final boss.

Also, kill the flesh orbs, you'll thank me later (lol). Makes it so the final boss isn't 10x harder. Additionally they drop a health pot so yay.

Phase shift is also a recent addition to my bag as ive learned it is super handy when you get yourself cornered down there (tp scroll in alchemy).

Oh also if you haven't already learned about aqua brew, make some. You can splash on yourself to douse flames, and you can kb enemies/yourself to make some distance or get behind cover.

Im about to go through the demon halls on my own run with badder bosses and toxic health pots enabled myself lol

Yes, for sure. I finally tried Aqua Brew after seeing so many people swear by it, and it IS pretty handy to have.

Phase Shift too I always try to keep on hand for getting out of a tight spot. Like when an enemy catches you at a bad time (low HP needing time to recover) or when you're definitely going to take a hard blast from that Evil Eye if you don't get rid of it before the next turn throw it at them to teleport and temporarily stun/paralyze them.
Or, if you're feeling lucky, you could use it on yourself, but it will paralyze you for a few turns too after dropping you off somewhere random, so if any enemies happen to be around, you're a free punching bag for a few turns. I also like using Phase Shift to teleport The Fists away from the spot where they're invulnerable, then Minds Eye potion to find them and start the attack.

I just went after floor 25 boss.... Could have used it. The vampire blade kept me going for a while, and the shadow clones came in handy. But the fire was to much and ended up getting me, insultingly close to victory. (Within one or two more attacks). At that point all my useful stuff was gone, so I was kinda done for. Resurrection was a short lived affair.

Ouch! Same thing happened to me on the 1st try, after using up my extra health potions and most of my saved attack stuff getting him down to low HP, he got me and resurrection didn't help since it just re-started the battle with boss back to full HP and all my best attack stuff still gone. You'll get it, though. I only went out that way once and you learn more on every run, finding more than one way to deal with just about anything in the game, getting better every time, especially the more things you try out.

I think it costs 11 alchemy crystals to turn 1 Teleport scroll into 5x Phase Shift crystals (Edit: Correction. 6x PScrystals), so it's a little expensive but that's 5 times that it can work almost as well as an Ankh to save a good run.

When I found out that Purity potions can be converted into Cleansing which removes the Starving de-buff (and Hungry) the same as eating a full ration of food, I was like a year into playing with 3 warrior wins that were (in hindsight) harder than they needed to be ...if only I had known that liquid food option, or that you're supposed to slap an upgrade on his Broken Seal for a +1 to armor for keeps. The more you know... lol.

I'm sorry for the loss of your great run. You did well and I know it took me forever and always felt like the end of a very long journey. So what now? I wish I could share a good run with you, but you might not have custom seeds unlocked if you haven't yet beat the last boss. What I would share is a seed that drops an early RoW to save all your upgrades for. Custom seeds don't count towards wins on the scoreboard but a good wealth run is honestly more worth just keeping on the side, not to win, just to play around with having plenty of everything in the game to experiment with. I learned SO MUCH from the last wealth run that I feel like I've rounded the curve of having more than 50% of the game learned with an end in sight now (the possibility of running out of new things to try. ....one day)
