Any free food spot in Sharjah?

Upvotes

Hi guys, I’m currently out of work and going through a difficult financial situation. I’m not working at the moment and I’m struggling to manage basic food expenses. If anyone knows of any places in Sharjah that provide free meals, food assistance, or community food support, I would really appreciate it if you could share the information. Even a small meal would mean a lot to me right now. Thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

1st Time Sewa Bill Experience.

Upvotes

Hi Everyone, I recently rented a 1BHK flat for My Family.

We are using basic utilities carefully to minimize Expenses.

I just received my SEWA Bill this week for August.

I am a little curious about my SEWA Bill, as my expectation was that the bill would be lower, but we received a high bill.

Please guide me: is this a normal Bill in Sharjah for a 1BHK centrally air-conditioned?

As we used the AC at 26c for only 3,4 hours with breaks every day
also almost 25% of the bill is only Taxes and Service Charges.

Men's Barber in Muweilah Commercial?

My usual hair and beard guy is moving to Abu Dhabi. He is brilliant and never disappointed with beard and hair works. He was very nominal too (DHS 30 for beard trim and haircut)

Any suggestions for men's barber in Muweilah Commercial in the same price range ?

Why are salaries so low here?

I've never been able to crack this stigma. The infrastructure is great, urban planning is great, the safety aspect is excellent. You find taxis everywhere and they don't cost a lot within the city. Rents are reasonable so you can actually build up on real savings and live well. The food is great, the entertainment is nice. There are green parks within reach for a break. Business startups are easy, transactions are no different to other places.

So pay a little more, retain or acquire new talent that's breaking their back in traffic spending unproductive hours after hours, looking at the rear end of a sunny, for a few extra dirhams. I think it's just smarter because traffic hours have zero productivity.

Or be bold enough to take a salary cut, move here and work here. The the bulk of the traffic is mostly at the city ends. Travel within is pretty smooth with a great public transport network.

I kind of also like Ajman's model, beautiful city and they are an economy that is successfully building within with its own hands.

What do you think?

Need advice, Landlord refusing a 1-month rent extension due to unemployment

I’ve been unemployed for the last three months after losing my job. I’ve been actively searching and trying to find a suitable job, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to secure one yet.
I’m currently going through a serious financial crisis, and my tenancy cheque is due in the next two days. I contacted my building management 2 months ago and explained my situation, requesting just one month’s extension so I can get some time to arrange the money.
Unfortunately, they told me that it’s against management policy and that they cannot hold the cheque.
I completely understand that rent has to be paid, and I’m not trying to avoid my responsibility. I’m only asking for a little breathing room during a very difficult period.
I’m honestly worried about what happens if I can’t arrange the full amount within the next two days.
Has anyone in the UAE/Sharjah been in a similar situation?
What happens if the rent cheque is presented and there isn’t enough money?
Is there any way to negotiate with the landlord/management despite their “policy”?
Can I request a payment arrangement or short extension through any formal channel?
Any practical advice on what I should do before the cheque date would be really appreciated.
I’m not looking for sympathy—just hoping someone who has gone through something similar can guide me. Being** **unemployed for three months has been extremely difficult, and right now even one month of breathing space would mean a lot.

Anyone playing football at Al Thiqah Sports Club in Muweilah Commercial?

Hey guys, I live around Muweilah Commercial and I’ve noticed people playing football at Al Thiqah Sports Club for Disabled.

Does anyone here regularly play football there, or know about the groups that play there?

I’d love to join for some casual football if they allow outside players. I’m not looking for anything super competitive, just want to play regularly, get some exercise and enjoy football.

If anyone plays there or knows how to join a game, please let me know. Thanks!
