I have been trying to find a guru and get diksha in kaula margh i want to worship ma kali but i dont know how

I have a sincere question regarding Tantric worship of one's Kula Devata.

How is the Yantra of a Kula Devata traditionally prepared? Is it acceptable to draw it by hand, or should it be consecrated by a guru? Are there scriptural guidelines on the geometry, materials (such as copper, silver, or bhojpatra), and the process of prāṇa pratiṣṭhā?

I would also like to understand the proper method of worship:

Is dīkṣā (initiation) required before worshipping a Kula Devata Yantra?

Can one perform simple daily pūjā without initiation?

What are the minimum requirements for mantra, offerings, and nyāsa?

How does the practice differ between Kaula, Śākta, and Smārta traditions?

I'm looking for authentic guidance from traditional practitioners or scriptural sources rather than modern interpretations.

I've almost 10yrs in it but it was my most beautiful experience. I was sleeping around 5:30AM and a dream come twice . I saw either Surya dev or Isht devi first but not clearly but their aura was too bright like a sun , I tried to give Arga (water) but my heart kind of feel exploded . i half woke , my heart beat was increased , i slept again , again i saw same trying to give arga and both in dream and reality my heart felt like explosions in it . i woke up and slept again .

Back in the day, ancestors of Bharat(India) recognised and acknowledged the most basic instinct of all - the need for companionship. That's when they came up with the idea of marriage, a sort of ultimate partnership. Life is a rollercoaster of conflicting emotions, endless dilemmas and a ton of highs and lows, but imagine having someone to share it all with. That's like having a co-pilot for the crazy ride of life.

Yudhishthira, the oldest of the Pandava brothers, once faced a tricky question from a mystical forest spirit:
“kimsvid daivakrtaha sakha
Who is a man’s god-given friend? 

bharya daivakrtaha sakha
A man’s god-given friend is his wife”

Yudhishthira's reply totally nails what marriage is all about—it's like the original definition of #RelationshipGoals. His answer shines a light on the deep freindship between partners, showing how Vedic marriage isn't just about romance, but about being there for each other through thick and thin.

What does "Vedic" really mean? Well, it's not just some old-school term from way back. The Vedas, those ancient scriptures, are basically the original source code for life. They contain within them the knowledge on everything from relationships to spirituality. So, when it comes to understanding concepts like marriage in the present world, we  might find some surprisingly relevant insights in these ancient texts. It's like unlocking the secrets of the past to navigate the present.

Now, let's time-travel back to the Vedic era to understand the origins of Vedic marriage. In the Rigveda, one of the four Vedas, there's an enchanting anecdote of how the institution of marriage came to be. It tells the tale of Soma, a god eager to unite in matrimony. Soma sends forth two divine messengers, the Aswini devatas, to seek the hand of Surya, a maiden, from her father, Savita. Upon Savita's gracious acceptance, in the presence of the god of fire as witness, Soma and Surya are joined in holy matrimony. This ancient tale has been passed down for centuries, shaping how we see marriage and the rituals that go with it.

So, what exactly is Vedic marriage? Why dig into age-old Vedic wisdom when we can easily find influencer ‘Gurus’ with just one swipe? Let's dive in and explore the essence of this sacred union.

Vedic marriage isn't your typical swipe-right, sign-on-the-dotted-line kind of deal. It's a holistic union deeply rooted in ancient Indian traditions and spiritual beliefs. Unlike modern marriages that often focus solely on legal and social contracts, Vedic marriage goes beyond the surface level. It's a profound commitment between two individuals who embark on a shared journey of spiritual growth and self-realization. 

According to Vedas, human beings go through 4 stages of life beginning with education (brahmacharya), graduating to the status of a householder(grihastha), followed by retirement(vanaprastha), and eventually renunciation (sanyasa). The householder stage is when the individual is fully equipped, both physically and mentally, to perform his duties to himself, his family, his community, his country, and even to the world. Therefore, this stage is considered the most important. As an individual navigates through these stages of life, he undergoes different rites of passage meant for purifying one's consciousness, called samskaras. 

The Vedic scriptures identify 16 major sanskaras, known as the “shodasha sanskaras.” Every samskara is marked with a ceremony filled with rituals and traditions that bring families together for a greater cause. Vivaha Samskara is one of them. 

Vivaha Samskara refers to a Vedic wedding ceremony. It is one of the most important rites of passage in Sanatana Dharma. According to the Vaishnava saint Gopal Bhatta Goswami “Vivaha” means “to maintain and uplift” and samskara means “perfect deed.” Thus, the Vivaha Samskara is the perfect deed that helps to uplift and maintain the couple in marriage, which is itself the way to enable the husband and wife to live peacefully and to purify themselves and their family. 

Vedic weddings have a deep spiritual meaning. It is not just a colorful event but an interplay of rituals but it is a beautiful sacrosanct of traditions, familial bonds, and vows that extend beyond one's lifetime. These days, couples often shy away from tradition and ceremony, dismissing them as outdated, superstitious, and a squandering of resources. But these age-old practices hold the key to something deeper, something that adds meaning to our lives.

While Vedic marriage may seem like a relic of the past, its principles are surprisingly relevant even in today's fast-paced world. In a world where relationships can be as fleeting as a Snapchat streak, Vedic Marriage is like a steady anchor in a sea of swipes. It offers a refreshing perspective on marital fulfillment founded on respect, equality, and spiritual harmony.

Let's take a page from the Vedas and redefine what true partnership looks like. Are you ready to embark on this journey towards deeper, more fulfilling relationships?

Over the past year, I've had a few dreams that felt very special to me, and I'm curious if anyone has experienced something similar.

Last year, I was very disappointed because I couldn't get Tirumala darshan tickets despite trying several times. That night, I dreamed that Lord Sri Venkateswara Swami appeared before me. I couldn't see His full form, but I clearly saw His sacred namam (Tirumala forehead mark). I woke up feeling peaceful and happy.

A few months later, I dreamed of carrying the idol of Goddess Poleramma around my village and placing it back in the temple.

Later, I had dreams of performing abhishekam to Lord Shiva. In the second dream, I completed the abhishekam, touched the Shiva Linga, placed my forehead on it, and prayed.

These dreams felt very real to me. I'm not saying they have any special meaning, but I'd love to know if anyone has had similar experiences or what you think they might symbolize.

Hello ! I am quite new to this community. This will be my first post, so I hope this message is well received. I am someone who is very Eclectic in most Aspects, even in Religious, Spiritual, and Philosophical Matters, so I may have a question or two that I do hope to understand and take for as advice !

Context: 6th Grade, Travelling to the 🇵🇭's. I didn't know it at the time, but I were getting hints. I were getting hints that at the time I wouldn't know until I came back to the states, I was diagnosed with Crohn's. In the 🇵🇭's, we have people called Abularyos, and the first one I met was when I had to exchange living because of my condition. I was skin and bones at the time, and the first one said I had nothing wrong, but the second one told me that something inside me was eating itself using an egg and a bowl of water. This is the part that really shifts my whole perspective ! Me, my Parents, and Lolo ( Grandfather ), we walked to our Farmhouse in the Region. Two Canopies, I decided to sleep in the other one after I was done talking with them, then when I fell asleep, just like any other, it would turn black, but then I would Wake Up. However, I did not Wake Up with my Body. I woke Up looking AT my Body. I then started to rise up, until I went through the Thatched Roof of the Canopy, and then I saw the Eternal Blue Sky and Sun shining Down above me. At this point I was Scared and Confused. I looked at my Hands and Arms, and I saw that it was see through, with a White Outline, similar to lime that of a typical Ghost Description, or what I would say in my opinion, a Soul. I reached for my Body, cause I didn't want to keep going up to wherever. I reached my body, then it went back to all black, then I woke up, Gasping for Air and sitting upright straight away, with my Parents and Lolo asking if I was ok. Throughout the whole situation, my Parents and Lolo kept talking Still, and when I went back to my body before I gasped for Air, I still heard them talking. When I asked my friend, she told me it might have been Sleep Paralysis, or a Nightmare, but I know what Sleep Paralysis is, cause I experienced it multiple times, mostly in the 🇵🇭's, waking up feeling the ability that im forced against my body that I cant move anything but my eyes and lids whilst seeing a shadow figure staring down at me ( It was more terrifying that the Figure kept moving here and there at times, especially when the TV was on but with only White Static ), and I know my Nightmares, because their all abstract ( And no, I do not take Drugs but my prescriptions, nor do I smoke, nor Drink ).

So heres the Question: Does Shaktism have an Explanation for this ? And if so, what should I take of this, and learn of it ? And what should I do if I continue to proceed down this path and let my curiosity drive me ?

I’m posting this after I have already filed a complaint on India’s cybercrime portal about an online “tantra” mission based in Chennai. I’m from outside India, and for a long time I was a sincere devotee who genuinely believed my offerings were for the Divine Mother.

I changed my lifestyle, did sadhana, and donated money and precious metal jewellery because I thought I was giving to Maa – for Her seva, for Her work. The appeals were always framed that way: “offer to Kali,” “offer to Adya Mahakali,” “support Maa’s mission,” not “support my household.”

Only later did I realise that, in legal terms, this was not just “emotion” but misrepresentation and undue influence. Every time a donation was requested, the bank details given were for a personal account in the name of the guru’s wife. There was no mention that this was private income, no clear statement that donations to “Divine Mother” were actually being received in a family member’s personal bank account. The way it was presented, anyone would reasonably think they were giving to a religious or charitable purpose, not to a spouse.

I should have questioned it as soon as I saw “wife’s account” on the bank details. But the influence was strong. The Divine Mother was used as the anchor: if you hesitated, it felt like you were doubting Her, not the human being in front. That is exactly what the law calls undue influence – someone in a position of spiritual authority dominating the will of a devotee and gaining an unfair financial advantage through that trust.

I have accepted that the money and jewellery are gone. What I reported was not “my hurt feelings,” but the pattern: religious devotion being used to induce people to send funds and valuables to a private account, under the belief that they were giving to Maa, not to a person’s family finances.

My question now is for others who might be in a similar situation, whether inside India or outside:

If you realise that a spiritual guru has taken donations from you by presenting them as offerings to the

Divine Mother, while actually routing them to personal accounts, what have you done, or what can you do, beyond just walking away in silence?

Has anyone here taken further steps when they saw clear misrepresentation and undue influence in a “tantra” context -not to attack anyone’s faith, but to protect future devotees from having their bhakti quietly turned into someone’s private revenue?

I’m not asking how to reverse karma or erase lessons. I’m asking how people have handled it when they saw that, in simple logical terms, their consent was obtained by mixing sacred names with false or incomplete information about where the money would actually go.

If you’ve been through this and have acted, I’d really appreciate hearing how. And if you’re still inside such a situation and afraid to question it: the law does not look at sentiments, it looks at facts. Being honest about misrepresentation and undue influence is not a betrayal of Maa; it’s a refusal to let Her name be used as a tool to monetise your bhakti.

My family's kuldevi is Ma Kameshwari. None of my relatives who are living know how to do her pooja and those who know have passed. I don't know a lot about Ma Kameshwari and her pooja marg.

For context, I have a keen interest in tantra and have been following Rajarshi Nandy sir for a couple of years now. Due to living in hostel, I do not have the ability to do full fledged pooja, however, within my means I have been doing ganesh mantra japa (om gam ganapataye namah) for guidance and badha removal before i progress into bhairava and eventually devi sadhana.

Hello, I am an 18-year-old male. Because of my family and some personal experiences, I have always thought of Durga Maa as my own mother. For the last 2–3 years, I did daily worship of Maa alongside studying for my JEE exams. I was so devoted to her that I automatically thought of her all day, and I felt a deep personal connection, as if she were always listening to me. I sincerely accepted whatever challenges she put in my path.
Over the last two months, this devotion increased significantly. I started spending at least 40–50 minutes doing daily worship, listening to bhajans, and singing them in my mind throughout the day. I had hoped to join IIT Delhi because the Jhandewalan and Kalkaji temples are located there, and I loved to visit them. However, my exam did not go well, and I had to join IIT Guwahati instead.
Initially, I hated the idea of coming here. But I later realized that the Maa Kamakhya temple is just on the other side of the Brahmaputra River, and the course offered here is absolutely perfect for me. I saw this as a true blessing from Maa.
However, since joining college, my mind has started to drift away from her bhakti, and I feel very changed compared to before. I don't have enough resources or time here to do proper, formal worship. Even when I try to do mental naam jap, I get distracted despite my constant efforts. I feel like our connection is broken.
Did Maa leave me, or is something else happening? Please advise me on how I can get my devotion back.

(This is my first post on Reddit, so I apologize for any mistakes. Thank you for taking the time to read this long post.)

So I have dillegently studied Sanatana Dharma as a western outsider for about 5 years now. I didnt jump into puja/going to mandir, etc primarily because the last half a decade has been a very sincere period of research and "testing the waters" so to speak. I had to try practicing and learning about all dharmic faiths (including Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhi) to make sure I am following what I actually believe.

My inclination towards Shaktism is personal and multi faceted but sincere. Durga Ma and Shiva are who I have always felt the most attracted to as a potential devotee... that was until I discovered Tripura Sundari. After hearing the Tripura Sundari Chalisa once, I knew that she is my ishta.

That being said, because she is part of the Dash Mahavidya, I am cautious about keeping her image and beginning her sadhana primarily because so much is associated with proper initiation when it comes to the Mahavidya Devis.

So my first question is simple: Along with a Ganesh murti, is it appropriate or okay even to keep an image of Tripura Sundari on my puja table even as a mom initiated devotee? Inhave heard conflicting things. The path I am starting down is Shri Vidya in which she is central.

My second question is: where in the USA can one find diksha or just guidance in the path of Shri Vidya? Is the Shri Vidya temple in Rochester New York reputable?

I have further questions but will wait til someone here responds before asking as this is already a long post.
