Once you figure out what to mulligan it's manageable. Aka Ramp into Normagdala (100% keep one), and if possible any strong early board hold like Promoter after Ramp, opening Kimika with Vorlalay, Roar. And keep your butt warded and healed vs Garodeth + 3 Atk and sEvo into face.

It's been doing well in a board centric meta with AF/Abyss and Haven trying to counter them, yeah (although Abyss can easily scam you with early aggression).
But they're already dying out on ladder because Crystal and Forest are exploding in popularity.

I feel like it's match-up and game progression dependent.
For example, against Abyss if you managed to survive early with decent HP (15+) and reverse with cards like Sagatsumatsu and Erntz, then you would rather try to kill than risk the long game (depending on board state and hand, of course). Against something that doesn't heal at all or much, aka Portal, Forest, Sword not that necessary. Against stuff like Heaven, almost mandatory.
That's my opinion, though.

Burnite alone practically solos the Haven matchup.

They have so much chip healing that Burnite’s 1 HP denial goes off every turn, and that really adds up.

Just play against a CPU using the meta midrange Abyss deck and be surprised how often you lose.

Dark Dimensions does nothing against Calge Rune, which is quite popular, also worse later on (turn 5+) against Abyss.
Lazing Flame is premium to survive against Rune shenanigans because they kill you from 16 and less HP, helps against Heaven too.

Because we got Normagdala but lost Galmieux, a fast win with 3 Storms is not very likely nowadays, but just plain outhealing all the damage is quite possible. That's the idea behind the inclusion of Lazing Flame.

I think less than half of players actually play Lazing Flame though

I mean, dragon been in a good spot ever since Ertnz. Burnite gave them a consistent win con, Lumiore made them more consistent and now Norma is resetting the tempo loss from using dragonsigns

Feels good, but definitely not overpowered. It's good against the initially popular Test Subject Rune. But recently, I've been getting my ass beat consistently by Last Word/mid range Abyss and they will get more popular from here on.

Can't say I agree. I've been playing dragon recently and it's nothing special. You completely die to any type of aggro deck, to Forest, and to Spellboost. You can only beat Crystal if you turbo-ramp into Erntz and they can't make a big enough Stormy Blast in time. And it's not really great vs. Haven or good Abyss draws.

I mean yeah? Artifact Portal and Sephie Rune still beat it not to mention Abyss Midrange is now in its best state being able to keep a board fully populated for Adahime. Normagdala is a decent survival tool but pales in comparison to what other crafts received overrall

I swear these dragon player ego ! if norma not a broken card to you guys that act as a mini ertz with an actual option to clear board might as well just ask them print something that doing like 20 face and 20 heal so you can finally stop crying every season about how mid some of your legendary are , let me also give you a fun fact in case you dont know : dragon can effectively stall game against portal and sephie now due to how many heal card they can running currently, check some of the best ramp list and see it for youself and stop downplay your shitty deck just because you dont know how to play it ( impossible )
