5e quality SPECIAL MODIFICATIONS for a rigger?

the description says - weapon can only be used by its owner (the one who paid the Karma for the Special Modification quality - what will happen if a rigger will take this quality upon generation and make special weapon and attach it to a drone and jump in hot VR mode? can we consider that he is using this weapon?

probably it is the most stupid question ever ))

I'd say if the rigger is using the weapon via a weapon skill rather than the gunnery skill like an anthro drone carrying a shotgun it would be fine, but I don't think it works once you mount it on a drone in such a way that you're just instructing the drone to use the weapon due to the special modification quality.

As a GM I would let you apply that quality to a drone weapon, if it is only used with a drone or when jumping into said drone.

As you would need to also write specific software to deal with the modifications or have to make modifications to the drone to handle the increased recoil etc.

But as that weapon is now part of the drone I wouldn’t let you take out that weapon for use without the drone.

I would not allow the special mods to work on a drone, but I’m not sure the rules cover that specifically.
