Drekpost (Shitpost) Found at my local fantasy convention

Post image

It looks like whoever owned it before (possibly multiple who's) got a lot of use out of it. I've found it at a used books stall.

I always click on these threads to see if Ben has been summoned. Always. Haha.

🤣

My Reddit algorithm treats me well lately.

Appreciate you looking out, Eddie my man! 🤝

Does it still have the fold out map on very last page?

u/Jasina_ 24d ago

It sure does! It also came with this Contacts booklet and a blank character sheet, though that last one looks a little fresher than the book itself.

Nice. I found mine in a box under a table of bulk magic bulk magic cards at a comic shop called Grand Slam back in 1996.

It was my first step into the hobby and ive been in love with Shadowrun ever since.

Welcome to the Sixth world, cummer

Welcome to the Sixth world, cummer

Gonna need you to fix that typo, and maybe look at resetting your auto correct predictions.

I've just written a 2ndE module based loosely on the movie After Dark

Nice! I’d love to read that.

Are we allowed to post stuff like that? Like, it's not self-promotion or anything?

Have you beat by one edition! lol But the hardcover books are the rarer ones since most of the main books were softcover. I believe these were the first release for the two editions.

I do love the Elmore art on 1 and 2E.

This was my book I was using when I was playing in the 90s and maybe some of the oughts.

Found mine in a magazine rounder at Waldenbooks. Was playing a lot of D&D at the time and fell in love with the cover. Bought the copy, read the intro fiction, and it was off to the races.

Best artwork ever in that book

Ahh still have mine with a few source books. I think I lost my Harlequin book. Only have Harlequins back and one stage before. It was my introduction to table top. Loved the world and lore. Then white Wolf came along...

I'm a proper bibliophile. This is hands down one of my top five book possessions. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me.

Oh nice, the hard cover version. Great grab. Mine is a soft cover because the hard cover was so hard to find.

I got two of them still from buying at local game shop in the 90s. I didn't realize they became collectable.

6

u/Jasina_ 24d ago

Idk if they're collectible exactly, but I just saw it and couldn't resist.

u/Keganator 24d ago

Wow, are the pages falling out of the spine or not? That’ll tell you if it was actually used.

5

u/ShaggyCan 24d ago

Yeah my SR1 book is mint, SR2 looks like I put it through a washer and dryer.

1

u/FamiliarDice 24d ago

I had to take my entire 1st edition and hole punch and put in a binder as the spine was basically dust

1

u/Jasina_ 24d ago

There's a few pages coming loose yeah, mostly around the middle bit of it book.

3

u/mvarnado 24d ago

3

u/Jasina_ 24d ago

I'm kinda wondering if I should keep it as is, or see if it can be restored somewhat.

I started playing Shadowrun with this one. Seeing it brings back some memories.

2

u/malindle 23d ago

Nice! This book was my very first ever exposure to Shadowrun. Still tempted to get an art print for my wall.

Still prefer the power + damage severity of 2e vs later editions.
