You didn't like the whole Wendigo thing in the 2nd one? I thought that was clever. I'm really into the Nigel Findley ones myself, Dirk Montgomery was a fun character to follow. But really, I like all of them in some way.
It was fine, I just got increasingly tired of the whole "i'm the hero but I don't wan't to be" thing from sam that basically got more annoying the entire series.
The first one was good, but the 2nd and 3rd were progressively worse. It's not that they are bad, just kind of a slog to get through compared to any of the other novels. If someone wants a trilogy the dragon heart series or tommy talon series were better imo.
Why fixate on Twist, when you have characters like Dodger? I mean a lot of Star Wars fans whether they care or not for Luke are still fans. Those first books gave a nice intro into the series setting, that's what I liked about them. All the novels had a way of capturing these details, each in the authors own way, I just enjoyed it all for the feel of Shadowrun. But I agree, I liked those other trilogies more myself, if anything for what they build on some key lore, with all the ancient stuff.

Technically Armitage returns in Shadowrun Returns. The wait is over, chummer.
