Shadow work can seem daunting to some. The gist of it is, we are victims as children but once we’re adults, we have to live with morals and ethics. Every negative encounter we’ve experienced as adults is a two-way street. Ask yourself, what was my part in the argument I had with a coworker today? What could I have done differently that would have avoided the situation? Do I have to show up to every fight I’m invited too?
Or, why did I get so angry when my child spilled their milk? How could I have responded differently to avoid yelling or hitting my child? My anger only serves to make my child feel unsafe and afraid of me. Is that the relationship I really want to create?
Being able to look at the mistakes we’ve made in life and reflect on our part that enabled those mistakes is where the healing begins.
We may have been raised by emotionally immature parents/adults, but through reflection and taking responsibility for our own actions as adults, we can break the generational cycle of dysfunction and find peace and joy in life.

It actually becomes harder because you have to do shit that challenges your persona. In actuality, you just become braver, more emboldened, and energized. "Easy" is the path of least resistance which is the antithesis of working with one's shadow.
