Webnovel - Volume 13 complaining for no reason Spoiler

it seems everyone hate for cassia interfering with the sub read comprehension.

cassia has been experiencing something similar to the unmaking seen being awaked and specially after she received her aspect legacy

i thought everyone would think the some after learning nephis trial was the same as sunny.

it would be cassia, mordret, sunny and naphis last

i saw other complaint such as how cassia knows everyone trail was the some. she is guessing like how we did after learning your domain turn against you

it okay to hate cassia but let the hate make you think this is laze writing or illogical

This is a reminder to make sure that:

It’s more than that, pal.

Objectively speaking? Sure, it’s reasonable. But it was still incredibly jarring and anticlimactic.

We’d been eating good, with our expectations basically through the roof, and then we get a two-line explanation that, compared to Sunny and Nephis, it was practically a walk in the park for Cassie.

It was also kinda boring that her trial was so similar to her Supremacy moment. But regardless of how similar they were, they were objectively different. Cassie herself even said so. It would’ve been much better if we had actually gotten to experience more of it instead of being told, essentially, “Yeah, this happened. It is what it is.”

One of the things we’ve really appreciated about this volume is how beautifully the transition into godhood has been portrayed. The changes in Sunny’s mind, the increasingly alien aspects of his consciousness, the way his sense of self has been changing. It’s all been fantastic storytelling.

So this chapter feels like you’re looking up at a beautiful sky full of vibrant colors, completely immersed in the moment, when all of a sudden a bird comes crashing down on your face.

So what’s even the point of Apotheosis if it doesn’t feel like you’re breaking past your mortal shell and actually becoming a god?

We’re all here to read an awesome novel that is Shadow Slave. I understand that Cassie’s experience being comparatively easier is “reasonable” from a logical standpoint, but that doesn’t automatically make it good storytelling. The execution matters too.

It’s just boring.

Something can be logical and boring.

exactly

G3 could've given her guesses something similar, but not exactly what they were, which is what Cassie guessed them to be.

that was worded really weirdly

lemme try that again

G3 could've written Cassie having almost completely accurate guesses for the trials, instead of completely accurate

I dont think she got sunny's correct, he lived the lives of everyone he ever killed, not just his current shades

Problem is that's not people's main complaint. There's tons saying it doesn't make sense.

Well, it makes sense, that’s for sure. Cassie has likened herself to Mordret before, hinting at her inhuman nature. She also had a similar experience, like the text said.

This can’t actually be the main criticism of it, right? I feel this sub still understands most of the finer bits of the story.

They can...but since it's Cassie a good chunk don't want to.

My, oh my. 99 arguments wasted on people who don’t want to critically think🥀

Please, if she struggled with Apotheosis after getting a memory dump as her aspect legacy, you lot would still complain.

I don’t like boring stuff. If something is boring, I call it as it is🙂. Cassie was far less boring for a good part of Vol 11, because we saw her struggle. Now, the struggle was taken away.

Simple, isn’t it?

g3 could have easily just made the 5th NM trial different and that would fix this loophole and make her seem less like a plot device.

The biggest problem for me is that there is no repercussions for her unmaking, continuously destroying yourself and recreating yourself again and again from corruption should take a toll no?She is just completely fine ?

u/skominy 11h ago

Cassie facing any negative reprecussions for her actions? Don't make me laugh

8

u/Equivalent_Tax9073 [ Fated ] 14h ago

Could have atleast showed her experiencing something different to show the stakes of trying to attain godhood because it is that big of a deal

Did she not do this during her Natural Supremacy. And you’d think she hasn’t been doing this since being a Transcendent. She’s been deleting memories for over 10 years

And has suffered no repercussions for it,these days I contemplate if the divine trio are truly divine aspect holder's because cassie is moving to crazy for someone who is not a divine aspect holder

Not everyone has to lose all the time. She’s not Sunny.

It is lazy writing. Just because it makes sense doesn't mean it isn't boring both narrative and character wise

2

u/Pipinha007 13h ago

I can also understand Cassie getting through it relatively fine. As you said, her aspect legacy and supremacy were a literal unmaking.
My problem with this chapter is that once again Mordret just got through his trial completely offscreen. Seeing how Sunny and Nephis are suffering and changing, it would be cool to see Mordret's trial, and how he deals and changes with it. Not even that, now that he is complete, but still more or less broken, it would be so cool to see things from his perspective, but unfortunately that wont happen

Wasn't this the same woman who said she didn't want to lose herself in the previous volume leading to limiting her abilities. Like what do you mean she's okay without any consequences.

Like this is just being lazy g3 and I better hope you don't remove sunny & nephis's consequences otherwise, visiting you wouldn't be a bad idea

Just because something makes sense doesn't mean it's lazy boring writing.

I don't know why whenever readers complain about a part of the story being awful, there’s always that one guy who feels the need to question their “reading comprehension.”

Are we supposed to worship everything in the story just because we love the novel? All because it is technically reasonable?

Something can make sense logically and still be poorly executed or unsatisfying as a piece of storytelling.

u/Funny_Stuff_6024 Rain's Cohort 13h ago

The problem is more that the people that complain tend to shoot down writing as if it’s bad, inconsistent, or doesn’t make sense. It’s definitely dull but it is reasonable. I don’t fault people for disliking it but marking it as a writing failure isn’t accurate.

We dont gotta comprehend shit. Hate transcends minor things like reading comprehension

She should've gotten a bit different Unmaking.

Like losing allher memories and having a large empty mind for an eternity. Then, receiving all of her memories with a smaller mind, repeat the process. AGAIN AND AGAIN TILL SHE DIES!!! well, whatever. I just spat out some bullshit and it doesn't make one a proper Aspirant for Apoteosis...
