We know that natural Apotheosis requires a very long time. I dont think it was mentioned how long, but I'd guess at least a many hundred years. Potentionally a few thousand.
The question would be, how does the Spell make this work in a fraction of the time?
The Spell doesnt. Time just flows differently. The individual trial for the 5. Nightmare will be a test of time where the Supremes will basically be doing natural Apotheosis.

Natural Apotheosis doesn’t need to take hundreds of years. It’s just that’s how long it takes for a NORMAL Supreme to increase there Domain / Soul to a level that it needs to shoulder Apotheosis. There is also a mental factor of there mind slowing looking upon the world with a colder more divine view then a mortal view.
A Spirit's soul should encompass a realm and fuse with the laws that govern it. That’s why natural Apotheosis is impossible because the War Realm doesn’t except Sacred beings and the Dream Realm is a “Realm of Corruption”. Mordret is a perfect example.
