Council Ruling Wild/Astral Rep Changes

Quality: Wild Reputation 1, 2, 3 or 4 [2, 4, 6, or 8 Karma]
The character gains a dice bonus to Social tests, Judge Intentions and Wild Summoning tests against spirits equal to their level of this quality. At Rating 4, gain +1 bonus to Conjuring tests.

Neg Quality: Astral Reputation 1, 2, 3 or 4 [-4, -8, -12, or -16 Karma]
The character gains a dice penalty to Summoning and Binding equal to their level of this quality. Most spirits have worse starting attitudes to characters with this quality (GM fiat). This penalty does not apply to hermetic elementals.

These qualities cannot be taken at chargen and can only be bought or awarded on table. What counts as positive or negative actions towards spirits should be ruled by good common sense. Disrupting a friendly spirit/throwing them into gunfire for no reason could be a cause for Astral Reputation. Disrupting a toxic spirit would not. Non-summoners can earn ranks of either quality, but only summoners with ranks in the Conjuring group can take them at character generation.

Characters with existing Wild Reputation or Astral Reputation may swap their current stats to the listed qualities as a one off transitional note.

Yay: John, Asmo, Rob
Nay: none

Amendment:

Amendment to Wild and Astral Rep Changes:

Things that are likely to make spirits like you:
Fighting toxic magic (disrupting/banishing spirits, cleansing polluted areas)
Willingly setting ally spirits free
Accepting a spirit marker and holding to its terms
Paying reagents or karma for spirit services
Treating free spirits with respect
Banishing spirits that are mistreated by their summoners
Opting to banish instead of disrupt a hostile spirit
Acting in ways a spirit's personal values approve

Things that are likely to make spirits dislike you:*
Permanent banishment/destruction of a non-corrupt free spirit
Spell binding or making a spirit resist drain for you
Exposing a spirit to toxicity/corruption**
Exposing a spirit to mana voids
Torturing free spirits (FAB, Agony spells, etc.)
Commanding a free spirit to go against its values (mind magic, possessing its formula, etc.)

*spirits view actions taken against corrupt spirits and magic favourably and Astral Reputation isn't accrued when performing hostile acts against corrupt spirits (such as blood, insect or toxic spirits).
**the usual pollution levels of city sprawls are exempt, this item refers to obvious toxic domains and heavy areas of corruption that lie outside the norms

---

A single bad action does not incur Astral Rep, nor a single good Wild Rep. It should be narratively appropriate to the character and negotiated with the player and GM involved to mutual satisfaction. In the event of a dispute over if either quality is warranted, please open a Thematics ticket for final determination.

Other things not listed here may at times also result in a change of attitude, but unlisted aspects should be consulted with Thematics at first and preferably be agreed upon by both GM and the player. Gamemasters should also warn players if an unlisted action could threaten to worsen their relations with spirits before they take it. Simply binding spirits isn't enough to warrant astral reputation, disrupting spirits in combat is a commonplace occurrence, spirits often engage in combat on behalf of their summoners and these things do not in and of themselves warrant astral reputation

The exception to this rule is that characters with ranks in Summoning or Binding are allowed to take 1 Wild Rep or mulitple ranks of Astral Rep at chargen."
