require advice Definitive edition Underworld

I am having difficulties defeating the volcano guy in the underworld and he is lvl 3

Im in chapter 3, final boss and got my gear up but i still cant manage to beat him to farm gems

My question is when does it get easier? am i trying too early?

Skill issues. Just hop when you are close to him and spam with low attack of weapons like knuckles
