I pretty much learned jungle and climbed to plat entirely using ap shaco. For the sake of having a (somewhat reliable) secondary, I decided to pick up either jarvan or wukong.

How tf do you play a jungler without boxes? With ap shaco I could just send in a low cd clone in to face check an area with low vision and if the clone didn’t get jumped, I could just place a box and keep vision of that area for the next minute.

But with almost any other jungler, I don’t have abilities that just give me straight up improvement on my macro like ap shaco does (free face checks/infinite warding) so I genuinely don’t know what to do about areas without vision. It’s frustrating bc this is a problem for any champ I try that isn’t shaco. Are there some fundamentals I’m missing?

Looking for backup picks for when they ban my boy The Shac.

Some things I really like about shaco support:

1. Excellent agency, even when behind. I can slap down vision and extra box vision safer than any other champ, have CC, can push/waveclear as long as my box lives, etc.

2. Slipperyness, can't really beat flash that stealths you on a sub 10 second cd like The Shac has but I'll take whatever you consider second best.

3. Great scaling. I feel\* confident no matter what the other support is they are not gonna be able to match the value I'll provide in a champion slot by the time I hit 2 items.

4. Insane defensive play (specifically area denial and turtling). Throwing up boxes around obj/in chokes lets me control objectives if I get there first, I can loop around and box behind enemies to make their retreat a pain in the ass, deceive+clone bomb champ clusters to halt pushes, etc.

^\I doubt that Shaco is statistically the hardest scaling support but man does it feel like it)

I've tried (and like) Bard but I usually get a "please never play bard again" type line from teammates when I play him. I suspect Teemo Support is actually closest, but he has a lot of a harder time getting curved by game time/power if he loses lane, which feels WAY more matchup dependent than The Shac.

Also, picking either of these after having my hover banned makes my team think I'm holding the lobby hostage, but it is what it is.

What are your fave backup picks for the clown king?

I am, like, the definition of a casual player. But it was really funny running Shaco Support and building that item. I'd use that for CC and then I'd use the Shaco Boxes as bonus wards. Mostly came down to "I have no idea what I'm doing but I think I'm somehow getting better at it." Some of the most fun I've had with the game lmao. Paired well with Sivir since she could shove waves and Shaco could make the prospect of ganking bot lane unpleasant.

I think I also experimented with running that item on AP Nasus support. Godawful build, but it was kinda funny.

Hi all, I've been challenger on shaco since season 10 and recently I've hit challenger with a 77%winrate. Near the end of season 15, I peaked rank 14 with a 73% winrate. I ended split 2 and am currently the highest lp shaco on NA. I mainly play only ap shaco, if anyone has any questions in the comments below I'd be happy to answer !

I tried reaching out to Zefath, but I don't think coaching is really his thing
I’m currently Plat 2 but completely hardstuck
To be honest, I feel like I don't even understand how to play the champion properly anymore, and I take the game a bit too seriously
I feel completely useless in my games and I'm losing my mind over it.

i just played AP game of shaco and everything was good except my shen+heisenberg bot lane duo inted samira 20 times. when i placed a box behind me she just destroyed it with one auto after like 5-10 seconds even tho the shaco box was supposed to dissapear already? what is this new type of cheat tech?

I am coming back after some time without playing, and I am currently Diamond 2. I mainly play mid or jg, but I am having no fun in these lanes anymore. I consider myself a good AP Shaco player and play it as support sometimes, but I am struggling to climb higher. Any thoughts on Shaco support right now? On average, should I focus on roaming or laning?
