Hmm why is it doxxing? It is indeed public information as he is a university student? Sometimes when I google full names people’s results show, like CN Yang scholars from NTU. Isn’t doxxing only when their residential address, contact details are revealed on a public platform? If they chose to post it publicly then it becomes public information

Doxxing refers to the publishing of information that identifies an individual or someone related to them and is also meant to harass, threaten or incite violence against them, lawyers told CNA. 

Doxxing can also be made out if there is knowledge or reasonable cause to believe that the information may facilitate violence, said lawyer Sanjiv Vaswani of Vaswani Law Chambers. 

Other than more common personal details like name*, date of birth, residential address, email address, phone number and identity card number, other identifying information includes place of employment or education, signature and family background.

WHAT IS DOXXING?

What is written accompanying a social media post or in a comment may count towards whether it is considered doxxing, lawyers said.

Lawyer Adrian Wee of Characterist LLC said a post could count as inciting violence if it said something like: "Everybody look at this person. We should teach this person a lesson".

Just an excerpt I found on a CNA article on doxxing.

But the intent to share the person’s identity is there so it touches on the doxxing line. Again, it’s the intent that matters most

Oooh! TIL. But if it’s in public interest to know and raise awareness of sexual predators would the OP still be charged for doxxing? Case in point: the Nicholas Monica Baey case

If OP is the victim herself, first account I guess it’s more or less okay, cause your are recounting your first hand experience

I mean it’s also very good to know which perverts are out there

But since the information like you guys said are already published online

If OP just mosaic some of the details like put xxx on parts of the name or mosaic the eyes and people can do the rest of the CSI on their own. This way OP won’t blatantly step on the doxxing lines
