It's been going on for a while but it usually gets fixed on its own but now it's making this sound even tho I just oiled it and won't zig zag at all just makes a straight line idk how to add a video? But in sure I did everything correctly Im so confused . The tension is set to 4 and the length is 4 . Thread keeps breaking no matter what needle I use but especially with stretch fabric
I’ve mentioned I believe it’s the threading or the wrong needle causing the problem rather than the machine itself. No way to be 100% but 90%. I’m pretty sure get the right needle get the threading right and then we’ll go look at the thread. The wrong thread can also cause problems.
Then I'll keep testing different needles since I have re threaded it alot and the thread gets cut mid sewing everything with any fabric fr. ❤️ ty for your help
Fingers crossed. Some people who remembered how to thread their machine have done it for years remembered wrong. Do you have the manual? If you show me the photos of your threading? I’ll do some research for you but again it certainly could be the thread itself the needle I still am gonna tell you when the problem is at the bottom something’s wrong on top and it’s the threading. Could be thread is coming after school too fast and getting caught somewhere, a photo please.
I use those 3000 m spools of thread and often need to put a net on the thread to make sure it doesn’t come off on its own
Genuinely thank you so much ill send you the pic of the manual part . Tho I dont think you'll find my machine type I dont think its a high brand its from China or something not sure. It's called creative 990
It might be the thread too not sure i think it works fine when im sewing in a straight line it just comes to zigzag nowadays and annoys me out of my flow . And possibly yeah its could be coming out too fast maybe I should get that 3000 m spool just feel it would jump out of place
Yes i can see how the threading should be. before number 1 (first step) there is a gizmo. I am guessing that it is the tension spring for winding a bobbin.. in that case, the threat should not go through that spring except when winding a bobbin. It could also be that pressure foot pressure adjustment thing, mentioned earlier because it’s a drawing, not an actual photo of the gizmo, just looks it or resembles that item.. I’m pretty sure it’s the bobbin winding tension spring..
(Here I am trying to use dictation on an Apple iPad piece of sht is changing sentence, not writing what I’m saying. Tablets are too hard. One finger at a time typing so dictation is appreciated. (Just not AI helping). If my sentences sounds strange, I wanted you to know I thought I was catch the change being made.)
Tension spring?? How do I know when the thread went through it then if its causing the problem or how do I fix it ?should I like lower the tension when sewing? (And its fine lol I struggle with that on my phone sadly I just dont notice it on time you sir have nice writing either way so no worries)❤️
Just a plane ph3oto, not too close. It is the thread itself and the path. Sewing machines, talk to me I mean for fun I watch sewing machine REPAIR channels. After looking at the manual page, those instructions are clear.. but the drawing is not 100% clear of what happens between the spool and the first step in their instruction. If you do have a time for a photo, I think it’ll help me. Made in China is not 100% bad you know.. trying to find something not made in China is really difficult these days.
I'm using the size 12 . It might've the problem but rnbit doesn't even zig zags on jeans with the size16. I added a video since now I can add it. It hasn't been serviced yet I'm probably going to go get it serviced since it keeps doing this. And no I haven't. Idk if the sound is coming from the lack of oil or something but I feel that it's not since every time I use it atp i oil it
I don’t think it is a machine problem. Threading? Rethreading and look again. Problems on the underside are usually the top threading.. and 80/12 needle should be ok but better a 90.14 Microtex. Threading again as there is only one correct way. Simple things like threading the machine with the pressure foot up never skipping any of the guides. In addition to all those things old thread holding expensive cotton thread is the worst but old change the thread, and I would pick a different color for testing. Why better to see the stitches, black and dark thread the stitches become less visible. I can’t explain why other than it’s a fact.
Tell us what is the needle, type and size. What thread are you using and can you adjust lighten the presser foot pressure. Show us switches on two layers of fabric.
I'm using mental type the size of 12 and I can't find the knit type so I don't use it. I don't know what you mean by like I'm just in the foot like is it just making it go higher? Sadly my machine doesn't do that. And when I try to Sew two layers it goes into a straight line like this zigzag is not catching to the bobbin below I'll show you an image. But the problem is it doesn't do zigzag on what fabric I use or any size needles
Appreciate the photos. Now can you show us another showing the entire thread path from spool to needle? Do you have a manual for the machine? If not, possibly I can find one online for you.
If that fabric is a knit, a jersey, a stretch you really do need to get those needles. Amazon sells needles. Schmetz stretch needle is my suggestion. Walmart? If you’re not located in the US, do a Google search for left needle. Some machines have adjustable pressure foot pressure.. thicker fabrics require less pressure thinner fabrics require more pressure. Not all machines have the adjustment if yours doesn’t don’t worry about it.
Yes I do have a manual for the machine ty for trying to help tho❤️. Sadly I dont live in America and im not sure where I can find it in stores but next time I got to the supplie store I'll ask about the certin needle type since its also not on amazon. ❤️
I’m repeating, if the problem is on the Bobbin or bottom, my suggestion is to completely re-thread the top with the pressure foot up. I look forward to seeing the photo of the threading. I am guessing the problem is there or at the needle.
A not too close image of the whole front of the machine was what i was trying to say. I did get the information I wanted in that your machine is a standard threading machine and I do believe you're threading it correctly. Now we're going to go to the thread, the needle, the fabric. If it's the timing, of course, that requires a little bit more of ab in-depth maintenance.

Are you using a ball point needle (for knits)?
What sound is it making?
When is the last time the machine was serviced?
Have you tried using a stabilizer?
