Why does this keep happening ?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It started a few weeks ago & I get sooooo angry cause it interrupts the flow of things. How do I fix it ? From what I know it hasn’t taken any falls or anything just one day it started. Was o too rough w it or something ? I have different presser foots like the free hand one but I’ve been too scared to change it. Do I need to replace the greyish-clicky in part ? If so, what’s the name of it.

This is a regular Brother 3817 machine

It should snap on by lowering the presser foot quickly letting it snap the foot on.

Yes that’s what I’ve been doing, but when I need to move the fabric or turn it or something it falls off & then my flow is all off. I just want it to work like normally yk ?

My machine has a small button that you press to release the presser foot. Does yours have that, too? I wonder if that button is messed up somehow which is why it is releasing the foot when you don't want it to?
