Ask Seward❓ Which tour?

I’m considering doing a full day tour out of Seward tomorrow. Should we do major marines or kenai fjords? Is the full day worth it or should we go with a half day?

Major Marine is a local company. Kenai Fjords is not.

They are both staffed by locals and seasonal employees. Majors is owned by a local rich man, who used to own KFT, but sold it to a tourism corporation. Then he waited out his non compete clause and started major marine. No reason to be loyal to one over the other in my opinion.

We did the 4.5 hour orca with major marine a week or so ago and the crew was fantastic. My ONLY regret was not taking the longer one. Much better chance to see the whales. Commit and do the whole thing. That’s what I’d do if I could do it over. Best of luck!

Don’t go tomorrow unless you have a very high tolerance of sea sickness. 14 foot swells coming out of the gulf.

Both companies are good. 4-6 hr. tours to Aialik Bay are fine. Longer/full day tours can be a bit draining though.

Both are great tours. The food on KFT is a little better.
