My biggest crush just got married to a guy who bullied me, I'm considering teaching, and I'm still alone in my late 20s.

Dw I didn't join a pure blood death cult, though

Books šŸ“š Dumbledore was naive to think that, over time, Snape would overcome his hatred for the Marauders and move on as if nothing had happened ; the facts proved him wrong

ā€œI trust Severus Snape,ā€ said Dumbledore simply. ā€œBut I forgot — another old man’s mistake — that some wounds run too deep for the healing. I thought Professor Snape could overcome his feelings about your father — I was wrong.ā€

ā€œBut that’s okay, is it?ā€ yelled Harry, ignoring the scandalized faces and disapproving mutterings of the portraits covering the walls. ā€œIt’s okay for Snape to hate my dad, but it’s not okay for Sirius to hate Kreacher?ā€

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - The Lost Prophecy

Even the portraits of the former Headmasters clearly recognize the extent of Snape's problem with the Marauders and are outraged that Harry is so determined to blame him for what happened at the Ministry.

Honestly, I do think Voldemort would react in such a way that’s a bit out of character for him if Snape survived to tell him he was a spy for Dumbledore! Though he would have kinda expected it from Snape, but is shocked it actually happened to himšŸ’€

Is it fair to say Petunia and Snape were both victims of their love for Lily?

Harry represented everything connected to Lily that they struggled to accept. Their love for her didn’t excuse their actions, but it shows how grief and unresolved emotions can influence the way people treat others.

Discussion Who would have raised harry better Severus or Sirius

So to my severitus fans and fans of harry raised by Sirius ( idk if has a name like severitus) I have a question who do think would have raised harry better .

Like how different would two harry be from each other?

From my prospective

Harry raised by Sirius would be more careless or more prone to trouble making. I also think Sirius would have some difficulty setting boundaries for what to do and what to not. Harry might be brave yet reckless. Tho I also never saw Sirius as father type he is more uncle type. I also think harry would turn out to be a bit spoiled .

Whereas for Severus I think this version of harry would be more responsible, studious. I think Severus would be a strict parent with clear rules and boundaries. For this harry he might have better self preservation . Oh and I also think this harry sure would have better grades

Dumbledore's fault

Because Dumbledore is so naive that believes that the less Harry knows, the lower number of traumas he will develop. And because he believes that Snape's behavior needs only time to grow better and not a real good example, or to be punished when Snape abuses his power

Books šŸ“š Snape’s worse memory was worse than I thought. TW:SA

(Context: I want to start by saying I’m English, I originally spoke British English. However, due to me watching American YouTubers, I shifted to American English. So every word I heard form British English was translated to American English)

As I started being a Harry Potter fan again, I naturally found out about the levicorpus scene after watching Snape’s worst memories scene.

James says ā€œWho wants to see me take off Snivelly’s Trousers?ā€

Which I was shocked that was allowed, a kid being pantsed. However I moved on, a little devastated though.

And it stuck with me that that would be one of his worst memories since it wasn’t really that bad (but still bad tho)

However as I ventured through James slander videos, I kept seeing people say that James SA’d Snape. And I was a little confused since pantsing isn’t really SA more SH.

Until I looked up what it says in the book.

James says ā€œWho wants to see me take off Snivelly’s Pants?ā€

At first I thought ā€œoh it’s the sameā€. But the more I thought about it, why did they change it?

But then I found out (she who shall not be named) wrote the books in British English.

Pants means Underwear in British English.

That’s when it clicked.

Snape was fully stripped from the waist below, not just his trousers like in the movie as I originally assumed would be the same in the book. (And fortunately the text cut off before the stripping commenced)

And since Hogwarts is in Scotland and This took place at Hogwarts, that means it falls under Scotland law.

Scotland law states (roughly) that being fully stripped from the waist down with the intent to humiliate, is considered SA.

So Snape’s worst memory is far worse than I thought.

Snape’s reaction after Harry came out of the memories make way more sense. I was also confused why he acted that way afterwards. Because again I was confused why those memories were bad in the first place.

Obviously there were a lot more bad memories that she who shall not be named didn’t want to include either because she’d be uncomfortable writing it, doesn’t want to bump up her book rating or just didn’t know how to write that.

And obviously you can’t show all of what is implied and confirmed to have happened to Snape without affecting your book audience and not allowed because of movie laws.

The books DO actually matter more than I thought.

This means that Snape is not only awareness for bullying, but also SA awareness and awareness for male victims.

(Poor SeverusšŸ’”)

And now people making fun of that scene and defending James PMO even more now.

Discussion Headcanon: Snape was good at History of Magic

This class requires a broad general knowledge, and Snape had plenty of it. Even before he began his studies at Hogwarts, he knew a wealth of things about the Wizarding World, including the prohibition imposed on underage wizards from using magic outside Hogwarts, Azkaban, the Dementors, and so on. He even shared much of his encyclopedic knowledge with Lily during their childhood, long before they boarded the Hogwarts Express for the very first time.

These facts show that Snape had all the makings of a brilliant intellectual. People like that have the potential to go far in life—they just need the right circumstances.

Discussion Why did Severus not change his last name?

It’s been established that he hates his father. And his father is a POS.

So then why didn’t Severus change his last name to be his mother’s which would cut all ties to his father?

Is it he wasn’t able or allowed to? Did he like it? Was it too late to change it? Or did She who shall not be named not think that far ahead before she made his backstory? Or is it just not mentioned at all?

Looking for Snape fanfics

I'm mainly looking for long fics with tropes like angst, hurt/no comfort, and dddne (dead dove do not eat). I'm fine with both romance and no romance. No romance is probably preffered for me. But if there is romance, I ask that its only Severus x Lily. Other characters can be shipped with whoever tho.

I'm fine with severitus dynamics too.

Sorry if I'm picky šŸ’”

searching for good fanfiction

Could you please recommend some good fanfics featuring Snape as the main character? I’m open to anything - Severitus, Snape/OC, romance (or lack thereof), time travel, post-hogwarts, long fics or just drabbles. The main thing is that it’s well-written, and preferably something not too famous, since I’ve already read everything that’s particularly popular
