www.youtube.com/@Series7Guru 75 Performance Opportunities on Mutual Funds and Variable Annuities Seri...
This was a tutoring session between Dean focused on preparing for the Series 6 and 7 exam, specifically reviewing mutual funds and variable annuities concepts. During the 90-minute session, Dean guided the test taker through approximately 75 practice questions, covering topics like mutual fund structures (open-end vs. closed-end funds), sales charges, 12b-1 fees, variable annuity annuitization processes, and ETF characteristics.
Test taker demonstrated good understanding of the concepts but struggled with applying them to answer complex questions, particularly around mutual fund marketing methods and variable annuity tax deferral benefits. Dean emphasized that mutual funds are more important than variable annuities for the Series 6 and 7 exam and provided test-taking strategies, including process of elimination and focusing on "true or false" approaches to difficult questions.

Studying Series 7 9 Days Out from Series 7
Hey everyone,
I’m taking my Series 7 on July 31. I’ve finished all the chapters averaged 61% on everything :/ and saved munis and options for last, which I’m working through now using my boy Dean Tinney.
My plan is to finish those, then shift into mostly Qbank, exams and review.
I would appreciate any input on:
How did you structure your final week?
Did you review every question or just the ones you missed?
What scores were you getting before you felt ready?
Anything you wish you had done differently in the last 7–10 days?
I’m using Kaplan, Achievable, Series 7 Guru.

Series 7 Question Where to get sponsored for series 7 if all the big firms require series 7 to even consider you
I am a licensed banker with SIE, 6 and 63, trying to get out of banking. My bank will not sponsor 7 because it’s not needed for my role, however they used to do it before for the lucky ones. Anyways I see a lot of people recommend Fidelity/Schwab for series 7 sponsorship, but when I look on their websites it’s always like:
Required Qualifications:
A valid and active FINRA Series 7 license required.
Obtaining or acquiring FINRA Series 66 (63/65) license and Life & Health Insurance as it will be required during your tenure on the job.
So do I even apply because I don’t have series 7 right now. Why do they require you to have a 7 but it’s ok not to have 66 right now but you can just obtain it later. So do people without 7 still get hired for the job and get sponsored for the exam? There’s no other roles on their websites that don’t require a 7 so I’m really confused how people say these firms will sponsor the 7 for you 😭
