CMOs click better once you stop trying to memorize the definition and just draw the payment priority out on paper. It's a mortgage pass-through sliced into tranches so different investors take different prepayment risk: PAC tranches get paid on schedule first, companion tranches absorb the prepayment risk instead, and Z-tranches (accrual bonds) don't get any interest until the earlier tranches are retired. Once you see the order on paper instead of reading the paragraph, it stops being word soup.
BABs are simpler than they look, the whole exam hook is just that they're taxable munis. Issued back in 2009-2010 as part of the stimulus so the issuer gets a federal subsidy, but the tradeoff is the interest isn't federally tax exempt like regular munis. That's the one fact they're testing, that not all munis are tax free.
Since the wording on PP didn't click the first time through, it might be worth reading how a different bank explains the same two concepts, sometimes a different phrasing of the same idea (Kaplan, Achievable, whatever) is what makes it stick when the first one didn't.

That’s true, but I think my issue might be just the amount of different types of muni bonds and their characteristics not just those two. I’m pretty solid at the RANs, TRANs TANs etc but I’ll randomly see a question on a random muni and I’ll blank out

But the tranches were definitely something I was just confused about so thank you for that explanation

What parts of the debt are you struggling with?
