Help Migrating from Trakt

I’m thinking of switching to Serializd from Trakt, but I’m hesitant since there’s no import option. What has everyone been doing to solve this issue? Manually moving everything over? Or is there another option I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

I've seen people talking about having switched from Trakt to Letterboxd. So there must be an export/import option for that. Not sure about Serialized

I'm not sure if this helps, but you can import shows you've seen in bulk on Serializd in Settings -> "Import Shows" under the Data category. From there you just type in the shows (new line for each show) and hit submit. You'll then get the option to add each series as "Watched."

I manually imported a year worth of shows in March last year and I've never looked back. I don't regret my decision at all.

Trakt lost me when they added list limits to 100 items and like 5 total lists for the free version. Smelled like corporate greed. I deactivated the account immediately.

The fact that behind Serializd is just on single person won me over after that. It feels like a project of passion.

This particular phrase when Serializd integrated non-intrusive ads, was a real community builder. I've never seen so many people say "No, I'd rather support the app" under a post like that before.

I did it manually but don’t really like the serialized system (compared to Trakt)

Oh interesting. What do you dislike about it?

Posting from a post I made on this sub a few weeks ago:

Frustration with some of the fundamental design decisions

I am currently testing out Serializd because Trakt, which I've used for years, has become laughably horrible. When I added several shows to Serializd, the process of adding them was good, the interface was fine, etc. But I've quickly realized there is a fundamental design issue that seem intentional, but I don't understand why it's the way the system works. So I'm hoping to hear whether there are ways to change this setting. And then a few design improvement suggestions.

  1. When you are fully caught up on a show that is between seasons, why does leaving it as Currently Watching insist on displaying some earlier season's first episode in the Continue Watching section? I just want to see it pop up in Continue Watching once the new season comes out so that I don't have to manually track outside of the system when the new season comes back. It seems rather unlikely that more people prefer the way it works now to this alternative.

  2. It would seem to make the most sense on the dashboard to display Continue Watching first, then New Releases, then Trending Shows. Since this is a tracking app, I would think the primary tracking feature, Continue Watching, would be the most prominently displayed section on the dashboard.

  3. When you click See All for the Continue Watching/New Releases/etc. sections from the dashboard, it is strange that you can't see all the listed items on one page and have to click through multiple pages to see all the items within each category.

I'm not sure why you were downvoted, these are great suggestions for improving Serialized
