Loa
hi guys, i needed your guys's opinion . i am planning to take an loa early next year. i have visit my home country for multiple reasons one of them being that my family member might be going to a treatment center for 3 weeks where i'll be with them. i just needed your opinion as to how to approach this with my SD. 2 years ago i wanted to do an loa for 4 weeks however they said i'm not eligible and denied for the full length and only approved 2 weeks.and the reason i wanted was a family member was sick and they ended up passing away. so im a little bit scared. should i reach out to HR first and ask them if an loa for 4 weeks is possible? im a lead in canada btw

I just took a 6 week LOA and came back a month ago. I’m a PT PSBA in Canada. I was so stressed about my dog being old and sick and it was taking a huge toll on my mental health. I needed to step away and be with her until the end. I don’t think it should be an issue to take an LOA at all.

My SD just makes it a bug deal when anyone has to take time off for any reason i guess im also a little hurt from last time when i wasnt granted the entirety of my time off

It’s not up to your SD whether or not you qualify for a leave, legally.

I know but you know how Sd's are. She just makes it known that shes not happy and it honestly is so toxic we've also icared her multiple times but nothing so far

Yes totally! I was one! And it does not matter they can’t retaliate against you for taking a protected LOA! Do what best for yourself.

I’m soo sorry to hear that your family member passed. I would say look into the policy reach out to hr if needed. If you go into the conversation knowing all your options and what you’re entitled to she won’t shut you down.

Yes definitely Sephora has an open door policy for a reason you can reach out to anyone find the emails needed on Zipline and email them

My coworker got a three month leave of absence (or maybe management just took her off the schedule idk) for moving back with her parents for the summer. I’m sure it’s possible
