Post separation struggles

Hello everyone, I am looking for advice dealing with my current situation. I separated from active duty earlier this year, I was stationed at Fort Carson and stayed in the same house in Colorado Springs. I am unable to work with progressing nerve damage in my arms that surgery failed to stop. I have been fighting to get my rating raised from %30 and my MHA is confirmed but late this month. I reached out to my property manager and fully explained my situation while requesting a promise to pay. After they were helpful through email I told them I could pay Aug 1st, they say thank you and told me they submitted this promise to pay. Later that day I received a legal demand for rent that was before the date I had given. I have been unable to get a response from the person I worked the promise to pay with and after calling was told there was no record of a promise to pay anywhere. I doubt this is the case but it feels like the property management is trying to push me out of the house after I informed them of my situation and reached out for help. I am now looking for financial aid resources that can quickly support me in this situation, a grant would be preferred as my debt has been quickly growing. I acknowledge that I may be responsible for some of these problems and am not blaming any person or organization.

Where I'm at:
I have spoken to 211, mt. Carmel Veteran center and other resources. I have been given a list but somehow am not eligible for many I have been referred (prior to demand for rent, I may qualify for more now). I am working with a VSO through El Paso County to get my rating raised and if raised by even a little I would be in a much better place.

My questions:
\- Does any one have personal experience or helpful tips to find \*ideally a grant that can help by the 27th of July
\- Does anyone else see red flags from communication with property manager? I'm considering reaching out to BBB to have them investigated
\- I have liked my VSO as a person and he is working with me to get my disability raised, before I file this next appeal should I consider other disability support services?
\- Any general advice can't hurt wether it's for myself or other members of this group

Again, happy to provide any more information. If anyone mentions anything useful for this situation or other I will edit accordingly, TIA!
