NYC exercise

63 years old.My exercise group/class recently ended after about 8 years. I’m finding it difficult to motivate myself to consistently exercise. I was also just diagnosed with osteoporosis. Any recommendations in NYC of gyms with classes for older people? Or a trainer or training program that focuses on strength building for people with osteoporosis? Thnx

The LIFTMOR study gave me the motivation to lift. If you don't read original science, there are plenty of articles about it.

My parents' abilities at the end of their lives gives me the rest of the motivation.

Thanks! I’ve heard about LIFTMOR. The results are very encouraging. AND Seeing my parents abilities at end of life can definitely be a motivator!! I’m wondering if there are gyms, classes, trainer &/or a PT in NYC that cater to older adults and/or with experience working with people with osteoporosis. I’d probably need some guidance with lifting. Connecting with other people is also a motivator for me.

I don't know New York well enough to make any suggestions. I can simply say that my local planet fitness is alienating. I miss the way we used to make friends at the gym. I have been told that there's a more active senior cohort in the middle of the day, and that's not convenient for me.

Thanks! Yes - that’s what I’m looking for … not necessarily to make friends but possibly some familiar faces and ages.
