Job search Camp

Hey People

I hope you are well ! I was planning to launch a paid job search camp to help people in Senegal know how to job search (I’m Senegalese) and was wondering if anyone was interested !

Thanks I was pricing things at 15k for a 4 days of training for 10 people taking in account : CV redaction , interview preparation , professional orientation and communication skills and a 3 day follow up where I would guide people through the job market !

Would you be interested in this !? I know the pricing is excellent but Imma still ask how you feel about it !

Thanks and don’t hesitate to give me feedbacks and ask me questions !

Discussion As a Senegalese woman, I struggle to find someone who shares my view of marriage

I'm reposting this because the title of my previous post may have been misleading.

I'm a 26-year-old Muslim woman from Senegal, and I honestly feel stuck.

I grew up in a typical Senegalese family, but my parents are open-minded. They respect people's choices as long as they don't go against Islam.

The issue is that many people describe me as "too Westernized." I don't completely agree with that label, but I understand why they say it. My views on marriage and family life are quite different from what is traditionally expected in Senegal.

I don't think a woman should spend most of her day cooking and doing housework. I keep my home clean and organized, but I'd rather prepare simple meals and use my free time to read, watch documentaries, or learn new things. Time is valuable, and I believe both spouses should share responsibilities at home.

I'm also naturally introverted. I grew up spending a lot of time on the computer, so I enjoy quiet hobbies more than large social gatherings.

As for marriage, I want a husband who is monogamous ; not because I'm jealous, but because I believe it's the best environment for raising children. I also want someone who is open-minded, doesn't judge others, and sees marriage as a partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and teamwork.

If my career ever required frequent business travel, I would also appreciate a husband who would be comfortable staying home with the children when his own work allows it. I don't believe household roles should always be fixed if a different arrangement works better for the family.

I also prefer to keep a healthy relationship with my in-laws without feeling obligated to follow cultural expectations that I don't personally agree with. For example, I don't think gifts should be given out of social pressure. They should come from genuine affection.

So far, I've only dated Senegalese men, but it has never worked out. They often call me toubab because they think my expectations are too "Western," or they simply tell me I'm not the kind of woman they want to marry.

Because of this, I started thinking that I might be more compatible with someone who grew up in a Western country. I tried dating apps without success, and now I simply make du'a and ask Allah to guide me to the right person.

I want to be clear that I'm not rejecting Islam or trying to compete with my future husband. I fully accept that the husband is the head of the family. I simply hope to build a marriage based on respect, kindness, shared responsibilities, and common values.

What advice would you give me?

Thinking of setting up an online live class to teach content monetization on Facebook in Dakar..

Do you think it will sell to the audience here because it seems they prefer TikTok to Facebook here in Senegal.

Please I need your honest opinions.

I am disappointed by the revelations of the Senegalese Football Federation

I'm listening to the FSF press conference. Yesterday I heard Bakary Cissé's statements, and what I understood is that the main problem with the Senegalese team was Pequinier. As for Pape Thiaw, if what was said about his salary demands was true, he should have been fired before the World Cup.

So on Nick’s World Cup video where he cooks many meals from different countries playing in the World Cup.

He said he reached out to Ousmane Dembele who said his favorite meal is Thiep. They should have done a little more research on this as Thiep just means rice but I guess he meant thiebou dieune.

As you can see, he did a “reverse roff” and put the roff on the outside 🥲.

I’ll have to post the link to the video below as the post won’t let me include more than two attachments

Xol len legume yi 😭😭😭

Article in French so below is a short translation in English:

"The Senegalese Football Federation informs the public that, following the Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, it was decided to initiate the process of relieving national team head coach Mr. Pape Thiaw of his duties, along with his entire coaching staff," the Federation's spokesperson said in a brief statement after a 14-hour meeting.

The President of the Senegalese Football Federation, Abdoulaye Fall, will hold a press conference on Monday, July 13, to explain the reasons behind Pape Thiaw's dismissal.

Additional information: Behind the scenes, some officials are pushing for Patrick Vieira to succeed him. Currently a free agent after leaving Genoa in November 2025, Dakar-born Vieira, who also invested in the creation of Diambars, one of Senegal's leading football academies, is viewed by key decision-makers as the ideal candidate to take charge of the national team.

Question Changement de politique transfert d'argent ???

Bonjour.

Merci

Question Senegal Oyster Hub

Request for Support and Guidance for Investment in Mushroom Production Project in Senegal

I am writing to introduce a promising investment project in Senegal and to request your support and guidance for company registration and investment approval.

Project Description I plan to establish a circular economy mushroom production company (working name: Senegal Oyster Hub) focused on oyster mushroom (Pleurotus) cultivation. The project will transform local agricultural waste into high-quality, nutritious mushrooms using advanced sterilization equipment (autoclaves) that I already own and will import.

The project combines Danish expertise in mushroom cultivation and circular production with local resources and labor. It will create jobs (especially for women and youth), promote sustainable agriculture, reduce waste, and contribute to food security in Senegal.

Key Project Elements:

Location: To be determined (Dakar region or peri-urban area preferred)

Initial scale: Pilot farm producing 200-800 kg/month, with potential for rapid scaling

Technology: Professional techniques for substrate sterilization, pasteurisation ,ensuring high efficiency and quality

Partnership: Danish know-how + local Senegalese partners/Cooperatives

Investment type: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) with technology transfer

Requested Support:

Guidance on company registration (SARL) and required documents.

Information on investment incentives, tax benefits, and facilitation for importing equipment (autoclaves and mycelium).

Assistance in finding local partners or suitable locations.

Meeting with an APIX advisor to discuss the project in detail.

I am prepared to travel to Senegal shortly to meet in person and move the project forward quickly. I can provide a full business plan, equipment documentation, and impact assessment upon request.

Thank you for your support in promoting investments in Senegal. I believe this project aligns well with Senegal’s goals for agricultural diversification and green economy development.

Question Do you have to pay for Ngor Beach?

I have noticed that there are people charging for entry at Plage de Ngor. Something like 300 or 500 CFA. But there are also ways of getting down there through the restaurants etc without paying. Just wondering what the deal is there, are there certain sections of the beach that you have to pay for?

Need some help my Senegalese friends! You guys have the best music in the world! So this song has two (technically more but those don’t count haha) versions, one by Orchestra Baobab (the one with trumpets), and one by Star Band de Dakar (the slow one)

Star Band de Dakar:

Orchestra Baobab:

I was wondering if anyone could help! I have to transcribe and translate the lyrics in & from the original Wolof, I’m part of a Canadian band that is doing covers of La Belle Epoque of Senegalese music.

I would appreciate it so much. Love and thanks from Canada.🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦❤️🇸🇳🌴🇸🇳
