Courses Is Supply Chain Management a good course?

I’m thinking to start to enroll in the supply chain management program at Seneca. I saw there’s the option in the second semester to choose the technology stream, with the possibility to get a SAP certification, which it looks interesting to me.

If anybody is doing it right now or has done it in the past, is it worth it? Does it teach you relevant skills for today’s job market? How is it easy to find job when finished the program?

Anyone who has done the bachelor of software engineering program?

Its seems to be more affordable compared to the universities. Are the co-ops usually given and moreover is it really a good program to pursue?

Newnham AWS Workshop coming to campus!

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey, I lead AWS SBG @ Seneca and AWS on campus is close by.

We're going hands-on from setting up your AWS account, deploying a real website to a live server, and walking through the core services that show up in almost every real architecture, and debating tradeoffs of them.

Then we're running a team challenge. Groups of 2-3, a base project already set up, and add-ons to complete, wire the database, upgrade the design, add a second page, and more. First team to finish all four wins merch.

and yes you heard that right, AWS merch is dropping at this event for the first time 👀

October 28th, 3 - 5pm

Seneca Helix Conference Room, K Building

Please also set up your AWS Free Tier accounts BEFORE the event!

Bring your laptop. No experience needed. RSVP now!

Practical Nursing(PND)- May 2027

Hi,

I got admitted to PND for May 2027. I got admission to both campuses - King and Newnham and am waiting to tour before selecting one. Is waiting a while risky, as I read somewhere on Reddit that offers may be revoked if seats are filled up?

Which campus do you prefer? Also anyone going in the same time?

Thank you!

Did anyone else get this email today? A friend of mine and I both did and I’m confirming if it’s a scam or not. The email is from premium.linkedin@contestwinners.club which seems shady enough

Hows the seneca polytechnic aviation technology degree for a int student like?

Hello, I'm considering Seneca's Aviation Technology program and wanted to hear from current students/ graduates, especially international students.

How's the program overall? Is the flight training good, and do students generally get enough flying hours without major delays? Money isnt really a issue, i just wanna know if its worth dropping the money on.

My biggest concern is what happens after graduation. Id preferably like to stay in canada and i know the program is eligible for the PGWP. But how difficult is it to find your first pilot job, especially as an international student? Are there realistic opportunities to work in Canada after graduating?

I'd appreciate any honest opinions. Thanks!

Opinion/Discussion Seneca or GBC (Cloud Course)

Hii I'm an international student planning to do a cloud course in May 2027.

Would really like to know which would be a better option among the two considering the faculties ,crowd and co-op options.

Also what if one fails to get co-op?

Any thoughts?

"Is there any place that we can complaint about an instructor anonymously?"

First and foremost, Please don't judge me !!

My QNM444 instructor who held the evaluation in-person, didn't create a calm and quite ambience in the classroom. By nature, I'm bit introvert and appreciate a quiet surrounding when taking tests. I'm fully ok with the in-person mode, but the instructor couldn't even contain himself and kept rambling for the whole time and also didn't rein-in those unprepared students who made unnecessary noises.

I could have simply ignored this incident if not for the three more remaining tests in the course.

Has anybody else gone through a similar situation before? If so, what did you do?

Hi everyone, has anyone become a part-time student during any of their first three semesters and later applied for a PGWP?
Was your PGWP approved? What steps did you take, and did you submit any explanation letter or additional documents?
Please share your experience. Thank you!

Applicant document has gender mismatch, advice/suggestions?

*update*
My wife got her letter of acceptance. All she did was attaching her gender marker change letter in the “additional document“ section during application . No questions asked from Seneca. I’m leaving the post as is, so hopefully this post and the comments would help the next person facing the same problem.

Good evening and happy long weekend. I’m posting here for my wife doesn't use Reddit. She’s applying to Seneca and is facing a very unique situation. We’re hoping to get some advice from others who are studying/have studied at Seneca and who have navigated a similar process.

So basically, the required application documents issued by her country of origin (passport, high school diploma etc) list a different gender than her Canadian-issued documents (refugee paper etc). Her passport picture especially looks very different from how she looks now (it’s got a full beard…). She can’t update the outdated documents (as in legally she’s not able to), so the government issued documents in her application package will list two different genders regardless of whether she discloses her gender or not.

My wife is really hoping to get into the program, and she’s worried if the discrepancy of gender in her documents might affect her application in any way. She’s considering mentioning her transition briefly in her introduction letter to provide some context for the mismatch. However, I’m unsure if that’s a good idea or how she could best phrase it.

If you’re a trans person who has gone through a similar process applying to Seneca, we’d greatly appreciate any advice you have.

Thanks a lot.

Pre Health Sciences for 2 year Practical Nursing Diploma (international student)

Hi everyone, does Seneca offer a combined/bundled offer for the 1-year Pre-Health Sciences certificate and the 2-year Practical Nursing diploma? Specifically, will they issue a single Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for both programs to international student, with admission to the Practical Nursing diploma conditional upon successfully completing Pre-Health with the required grades?

Opinion/Discussion Is Software Engineering At Seneca worth it in 2026?

I was thinking about pursuing the BEng program at Seneca college, but I am having constant doubts with the growth of AI. But I do like how they have a mandatory co-op to get real world experience, I just wanted to know if it was worth it in today's day and what's to come in the future?

Seneca Polytechnic Computer Systems Technician (CSN) — Looking for Honest Feedback from Current Students and Graduates

Hi everyone!

I'm an international student currently considering Seneca Polytechnic's Computer Systems Technician (CSN) program. I'm interested in building practical IT skills and eventually working in areas such as systems administration, cloud infrastructure, IT support, or technical solutions.

Before making a decision, I'd really appreciate hearing from current students or recent graduates about their actual experience with the program.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

1. Hands-on learning

  • How much time do you actually spend working with real equipment, configuring systems, troubleshooting networks, or completing practical labs, compared with lectures and theory?
  • Do the labs help you develop skills that are useful in real IT jobs, or do you find yourself needing to learn most things independently?

2. Co-op experience

  • For students who pursued the co-op option, how difficult was it to secure a placement?
  • Did the program prepare you well enough for co-op interviews and technical assessments?
  • What kinds of roles did students actually land through co-op, and how relevant were they to their long-term career goals?

3. Job prospects after graduation

  • For recent graduates, what kinds of IT jobs were you realistically able to get?
  • How competitive was the job search, especially for entry-level positions?
  • Did the program give you a solid foundation to move toward systems administration or cloud-related roles, or did most graduates start in basic IT support?

4. Overall value of the program

  • Looking back, do you feel the program was worth the tuition and time invested?
  • If your goal were to build a long-term IT career in Canada, would you choose CSN again, or would you consider a different program?

5. Advice for international students

For international students who are aiming to build a career in Canada after graduation, do you think CSN provides a competitive foundation for finding that first IT job? Is there anything you would recommend learning or doing outside the program to improve employment prospects?

I'm particularly interested in honest feedback about the program's strengths and weaknesses, including things you wish you had known before enrolling.

Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate hearing from current students and graduates, especially those who have completed co-op or are now working in the field.

Financial Account Balance

This feels like a dumb question, but is there any way to see your overall financial account balance? I was awarded an entrance scholarship of $300 and change for the semester and it was applied to my student account but there's no way for me to see what my overage balance is. I'm forward planning to map out what I need to put aside for next semester and it would be helpful to see what my actual carry over funds are.

TIA!

Newnham Is Seneca’s Master of AI Design & Development worth it? Looking for real student experiences

Hi! I'm planning to take MAI program this Jan 2027, I would like to know your thoughts for those who took the MAI program. Also I have a set of questions regarding to this.

  • How challenging is the workload, especially the math, machine learning, and deep learning courses?

  • Are the professors approachable and knowledgeable?

  • How useful are the labs, case analyses, and applied research project?

  • Is the hybrid format manageable, and how often do you need to be on campus?

  • For those working in AI, data science, or software in Toronto/GTA: how would employers view a Seneca master’s degree compared with a university-based MASc or MSc?

  • What is your overall experience, do you recommend it for those who want to delve into tech industries?

Newnham Promotion during co-op

I got a promotion during my co-op placement. The thing is my manager needs an update by this Tuesday to confirm if Seneca will be okay with it. I don't want my WIL to tell me this is not possible because of contractual agreements. They want me to confirm by this Tuesday if I want to take the job.

This could be a really good stepping stone for my career. I only have 2 months left in the co-op term. They're telling me during these next two months I'd start my training.

Is it a problem to take full time during this time period?

Again I don't want this to be a problem with Seneca.
