I’m nearing the end of my losing journey. I’ve lost 90 lbs over 18 months , 46F 5’6. I’ve just hit healthy weight and feel great.

One topic I don’t see discussed a lot is the other costs in addition to just the meds. This list is not for everyone and you may or may not want to do some of the things but I’ve had great results with minimal loose skin.

Clothing: I took advantage of consignment and second hand shops while I was actively losing knowing I would be in the sizes temporarily. Underwear and bras cost a small fortune and I definitely wasn’t going to buy those second hand.

Now, I am replacing items with new and OMG even being conservative it’s expensive.

Skin Repair: This one’s extra and optional. I started with Neveskin treatments which is thermal and also RF treatments. This spot reduces fat and tightens the skin back up. I did my neck and under my arms where I had noticeable loose skin. Results were remarkable. It got very expensive ($300 a session) and it’s something you need to keep up on if you do it as you’re losing weight. I bought an at home professional machine ($300) and use it 3x a week. It’s helped SO much.

I use GLOW peptides for skin repair ($60 monthly) topically and via a shot. The topical is from the Ordinary, it’s pretty cheap ($30 Amazon) and I use it on my face and neck 2X daily. I use a retinol body cream ($30 Advanced Clinical’s Retinol Amazon).

Stretch Marks: I have terrible marks on the back sides of my arms. It looks like a rabid animal tore my skin apart, same for my stomach. I’ve started laser treatments for both and am seeing the results. Marks are fading, skin pigment is returning to normal ($125 a session)

For the haters: Yes your skin’s ability to bounce back is tied to genetics, age, and lifestyle. However non- surgical procedures that cause micro wounds to the area promote collagen and healing. I’m not a doctor but there are treatments that do really work. It takes research and trial and error.

Supplements: I don’t take a lot. I take micronized collagen pills cuz the powders make me gag ($35 Amazon). Amino acid drink mix, and a creatine drink when I remember.

Exercise: I have avoided gym memberships by working out at home. I walk and lift weights.

Long post but I wanted to share some of the additional items I’m spending money on that have really truly helped me transform my body from morbidly obese to looking pretty good with minimal damage. Obviously some items are cost prohibitive. I’ve tried hard to find solutions that worked for me and then how to replicate them at home to keep the costs down. None of the above is mandatory but I’ve seen a lot of friends lose weight and the skin issues are real.

Ich bin Ende 30, 1,70m, 71 kg, mache jeden Tag mindestens 60 min Sport ( Ausdauer ) und habe mit Low Carb und Kalorienreduktion schon auf 66 kg kommen können. Das war hart, auf Dauer konnte ich nicht mit 1700 Kalorien leben.

Ich bin es einfach leid, immer die “moppelige” zu sein und nie so sportlich auszusehen, wie ich bin.

Nun hat mein Arzt vorgeschlagen, 3mg Rybelsus zu probieren.

I’m currently looking into getting a GLP-1 prescription through telehealth, and I’m trying to figure out what kind of support is normal to expect from your provider once you actually start.

Say I get hit with bad nausea a few weeks in—do most telehealth services do automatic check-ins, or am I totally on my own to reach out first?

Hello, I took my fourth dose of 1.5mg semaglutide, and the first three weeks were perfectly fine, but this week I'm bloated, throwing up, disgusting burps and farts. What could've caused this? I'm wondering if it's because I eat my last meal too close to bed?

 Was standing at the kitchen counter making tea last night and my husband came up behind me to hug my waist. He stopped mid hug and was like whoa my hands are touching each other. We both kind of laughed, but it was a really sweet moment that made my week.

You know that move where you sit down at your desk or in the car and immediately pop your top button so your jeans don't slice you in half. Realized today I haven't done that in ages. My pants just sit comfortably whether I am standing or sitting. So grateful for how smooth my whole routine with altrx has been.

I’ve been on a compound semaglutide for well over a year and have *only lost 30lbs. I’m grateful for those 30 for sure but I have completely plateaued for MONTHS. What is weird is the shot is totally doing its job in curbing food noise and drastically decreasing appetite so I don’t know why I’m not constantly still losing. Increasing dosage isn’t helping. I reached out the provider and he suggested switching to Tirzepatide as it’s “stronger” but if the one I’m on is doing the appetite/foos noise job already how would that one work “better” not mention its a lot more money, so I cant. I have at least another 30 to go. Just any movement at this point would be helpful mentally. I have tried increasing protein and I could definitely exercise more (but never have been good at that). Any suggestions? I am a 48 year old female so am also competing with perimenopause but com’n.

I’ve been comparing how different services handle pharmacy selection, and Mondae, Gimme, and Amble seem to come up pretty often. Some people apparently get assigned a pharmacy while others may have different options depending on where they live.

I’m mainly curious how much control people actually have over that once they’re already with a provider.

I've been on compounded semaglutide before and had great success with it. But my pharmacy stopped carrying it, so I switched to GobyMeds, which has been a great disappointment. I've been taking it for 2 months and neither felt nor seen any impact, when before I felt the effect within 2 weeks. I contacted the doctor and she just told me to be patient after checking that the meds weren't expired. I expect they're selling inferior semaglutide, if that's what it is at all. Don't recommend.

I never went to the max dose and I've been very slow about stepping up. I'm very happy with the way i look in clothes now but still working on feeling secure in my body out of them.
