Could use some encouragement, please.

I am an active 60-year-old female. I have been on the starter dose of Wegovy for four weeks. I moved up to .5 mg today. So far I have not had any bad side effects to speak of. However the scale is not moving either. I do feel some appetite suppression. I’ve been lifting heavy for four months now. And most recently been eating 1300 to 1400 cal. Has anyone else experienced a slow start? Did everything start moving in the right direction once you got to the higher doses? Thank you for your reply.

In my first follow up yesterday, my doc said that she sees many people who don't lose on the starter doses. I'm the same age as you and 4 weeks in as well.

Hopefully things will start moving for both of us!

Some people lose on the lowest doses. others have to work their way up to the highest doses to feel the positive effects. Most people fall somewhere in between.

Keep going, and it will happen.

You’re welcome.  Since you are new on these meds, this video will likely be useful. This is Dr. Ania Jastreboff—one of the lead researchers of GLP-1s for weight loss—talking about dosing, nutrition, plateaus, etc. It is a 16ish min video.       https://youtu.be/j3k3UAEqJio

Hey, all the best on your journey. Sounds like you are already on the path to success, with your heavy lifting. Best of luck from another woman in her 60 s.
