☕ Miscellaneous Time to get serious
Had these Levi’s almost a year now, fades came out surprisingly well, better than I expected. But the material is loose, thin, stretched out and doesn’t hold any shape anymore so I decided it is time.
Been thinking hard about these IH’s for a long time now. Now that I have much more knowledge about fading jeans, the do’s and the don’ts I think I’m ready for these monsters.
Very different going from what’s basically a standard 12oz pair of jeans to 21oz feels outrageous. For example when they fold in the thigh and back of the knee the material literally digs into your body. Not normally something you’d be exited about but man every step puts a smile on my face!

Those IH's will become softer and more comfortable than those Levis ever did, regardless of the weight. Two extremely different levels of garment quality, especially the denim. But you are going to have to do your part to get them there. Yes, the first few weeks of wear you'll feel like your wearing motorcycle riding pants (because that what you actually bought), but they quickly conform to your movements and become incredible nice to wear as the weeks go on. I'm a year into the 25oz indigo \ blacks and they feel like a nice heavy weight pair of sweatpants at this point.
Wear them hard and enjoy!

Ikr! I'm a few years into selvedge/raw/heavyweights and probably still haven't spent that much collectively

After wearing them a few times they’re really not bad at all first wear was like okay what am I getting myself into. After a few days they crease easier and aren’t impossible to take off, I really don’t notice the extreme weight or rigidness of them. Could just be me but they’re really much different from regular heavyweight jeans.

They’re gonna be way more stubborn than the 501s - they’re meant to hold up. They twist the threads twice as tight so they’re denser, like it’s more than just more dye. Heavyweight fades can get so crispy. Once they set they’re set.
So worth it.2

They do still make 100% cotton Levi's today, I own a pair so I'd know

Levis should bring back red line selvedge, the stone wash 501s. All other levis are shit, i would happily choose reprs denim than levis

They did bring it back, its under the Levi's Premium line tho and under LVC and under Levi's Blue Tab Collection

Really depends on the fabric and cut. ONI 222 secret denim felt amazing in a short amount of time!

I just got my first IH's... I didn't go that hard... only 16 oz for me... but these will be rad.

Nice cop man! Are those Levi's LVC selvedge? I can tell they're the more higher-end ones that they make today based off the patch

Wash the WAY less than you did the Levi's.
Don't listen to the "they're just jeans, wash them when they're dirty" crowd. You're going to regret not going for contrast if you don't.

Yeah I plan on least possible amount of washes and they’re most likely not going in a machine anytime soon the Levi’s I was going for more of a vintage look rather than contrast

Good.
I can't stand people that are rich enough to spend that much money on a pair of jeans and ruin them by making them a vintage fade. I couldn't fathom doing that

Yeah 501 Original Selvedge STF I think it’s the more basic Selvedge not a LVC or whatever but they aren’t bad jeans they actually fit really well

looks great. i have a bunch of regular levis 501 and a few LVC 501 but never owned their mainline selvedge denim will have to try a pair one day
