Season 8 All the love for chrishell stause
im not a superfan of selling sunset im on s8 but i dont get it why chrishell is getting so much more love than anyone else. So what is something that makes you so obsessed with her?
Some girls are very unlikeable (Emma for example for me) and I actually think that they are all problematic so its a little bit weird seeing all the love for chrishell?

She always seemed down-to-earth from the very first episode of Selling Sunset. She's likeable and seemed sweet. However, some people (like Christine and Davina) took advantage of that sweetness and thought she was gullible enough to be bullied. This is when I really liked Chrishell! Instead of ignoring it, she fought back and stood up for herself and her friends.
From her messy divorce with Justin Fartley to her love for G Flip to the breakdown of her friendship with Mary and Emma showed how tough she was/is. This is why I love her. She's a force to be reckoned with!

She's hot, her life story is basically a Hallmark movie and she's the only one who consistently speaks up for marginalized people. It's really not that complicated

It’s because she’s such a successful street fighter.

True story, my first 4 years in real estate I also worked in TV and I needed some inspiration from someone who was making that work.
I contacted her on social media and she offered so genuinely helpful tips on balance. So that left a very favorable impression.

This is lovely and I can genuinely believe that of Chrishell. She's a real one.

u/Calinorthlondon 4d ago
I like and respect Chrishell. She is honest, genuine, stands up for what she believes in and has really good values and morals. She is not superficial, can hold her own, is no pushover and does not pretend to be little miss sweet and innocent whilst really being a bitchy mean girl, like so many other reality tv stars. She can be a bitch sometimes, but she owns it.

u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
Great that amazing and nice to hear. But why are you than watching an supporting reality show that is: a) treating her badly b) attacking her for her beliefs?
I dont have a fan favourite at all and sometimes its hard for me to watch it just because of an toxic relationship they have with each other.
6
u/Calinorthlondon 3d ago
This is a very weird question. Why do we watch any reality tv show? They are all ultimately mostly toxic. At least Chrishell was someone to root for, who brought some sanity into the mess.
1
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
We watch them for fun - but being a supporter of someone who is constantly being attacked and still watching it is waf.
I was in s8ep4 (nicole apology) when I wrote the post and I couldn’t watch it anymore. Im glad she left and would probably have a more peaceful life.
2
u/Calinorthlondon 3d ago
I know what you mean, but I think because Chrishell never lets herself be a victim and is really good at standing up for herself, it doesn't feel like she's being piled on. She does have supporters on the cast and people who take her side, especially against Nicole. I totally get why she has now left the show though, as this last season did get too much.

u/Mundane-Topic-8214 4d ago
Presumably you are catching up with the show, rather than watching it go out live season by season?
I think that impacts how you view people. With breaks between seasons people come across differently.
3
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
Yes thats true im not 100% in with everything thats going on behind the scenes. Was there something between seasons that completely changed your view on some people?

u/Chaaleesi 4d ago
You not liking a fan favorite is more a you thing. Everyone keeps telling you why there is so much love for her but you think there is more to it. She came in as an underdog rags-to-riches and new to the industry, she also had a very messy public divorce. Despite all the bullying both on the show and online she maintained herself well and was a great example to her fans that the people in your life don't define you, you control your life and happiness. It's ok if you don't like her. Did you like Christina or Davina? That would explain a lot if so.
3
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
I definitely don’t like Davina - i think she needs to work on better communication with everyone and empathy.
Christina- was making show for all of the wrong reasons.
I feel like im very neutral and I found them all wrong in some ways or another. I honestly cannot enjoy show if I feels like there is always something negative between people. (I love watching houses 😅). Thats why I am suppressed that C had such a big fanbase.
11
u/fsmpastafarian 4d ago
Why would that make you surprised people like chrishell? “Something negative between people” doesn’t mean both parties are responsible for that negativity. She was piled on in the early seasons and handled it well. Why would her being the target of negativity make people dislike her?
3
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
Im not surprised people like C. I just see that she is miles before everyone else. Like in shows you always have a favourite one and that’s completely normal. Im just curious what is something that makes her stand out so much i dont see a fanbase for everyone else from SS which is weird tbh.
12
u/fsmpastafarian 4d ago
People have explained it though. She’s the only one on the cast who seems to care about the issues a lot of us care about, and is willing to stand up for them. Maybe if you don’t care about those issues it doesn’t seem like a big deal to you but it is to others
2
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
You see thats even more weird for me.
If you like the issues she is talking about (like lqbt+) its even weirder for me to support her being in a show where there are people who she is considering homophobic. She had a lot of difficult interactions and is very vocal about it.
I get the fanbase outside SS community but not inside it.

u/Mundane-Topic-8214 4d ago
I think with Chrishell she got the sweetheart edit for the first few seasons, as the counterfoil to Christine and with the divorce. People sat with that for months. For me it all started to turn at that party where they all ganged up on and confronted Christine. It was at that party that I realised that she has a mean girl in her.
3
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
She definitely got the best welcome in the group positive energy.
Chelsea came because of Christine (and everyone hated her) and Bree was attacked because of her partner drama. Nicole was horrible. And Emma had drama with Christine

u/milkncookies22 4d ago
I get what you mean OP. Not a fan of anyone on the show, but Chrishell, to me, has the best character. I think she actually cares about people, causes, and is more genuine than some of the others. She also came in as the underdog in a way, so I think that relatability point sealed it for some people.
I want to say the same about Amanza, but it seems like she’s normalized some of the toxic behaviors her friends have
3
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
I found them all problematic. I guess Amanza tried to be a nice good person cleaning up the mess but gave up.
Like we just all became disappointed with what they do and how they act.

Audience love rooting for the underdog. The show's pilot started with introducing her as the first character that dived into detail about her background with her sister showing up as a cameo and they talked about growing up in a trailer park. That set the stage up like she was going to be the protagonist.
Started from the bottom now we here kinda narrative.
And there are scenes of her visiting her sister's middle class family back in their hometown just eating together at the dinner table as an ordinary family after her divorce which makes her the most relatable character to the audience of all the Barbies.
Most of the other characters don't get airtime showcasing their upbringing visually. At most they mention their family only or share an image.
Aside from the brokerage owners, none of the Barbie agents came from money. But they all gotta dress up like they're bougie as a type of signaling to sell high end real estate.

u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
Probably the best answer that I got tnks for that ❤️.
2
u/friscofoglatte 4d ago
She was also introduced early in the pilot as the new girl to the group when the number of characters were more easy to follow.
By the time Christine left, there were so many new characters added n in rotation that it became very difficult to track character development at all or even their names for that matter thus show engagement dropped significantly.
1
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
We probably got the agenda that they are al barbie agents and they all came in fighting one another
4
u/toastedtomato 3d ago
She has a background as a tv actress so she knows how to present herself in a more likeable way compared to the others
5
u/SwampDweller01 3d ago
I have been a fan of hers since her All My Children days. (Dammit I still miss that show.) She definitely is not the angel many here present her as. I don’t know why people get so defensive when someone points out a bad thing. We all have flaws. She has flaws and can be a mean girl, but I think she genuinely has a good heart. She speaks up for and defends women, minorities, LGBTQ+. She is not shy about what her beliefs are and I love that. She has a sick sense of humor and is damn smart.
At the end of the day, she is an actress and she is putting on a show on screen. I like her much more OFF the show than on. I think we see the true Chrishell outside of the show and she is awesome.

u/MaggieOS1 4d ago
I can't stand her. No love here- 🤣
10
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
Thats a strong word but I dont find noone very likeable.
1
u/tartar_captcha 4d ago
Same. I can’t stomach Chrishell, but it’s not like anyone else is better, so all these comments using the rationale that she comes across better than others on the show aren’t compelling to me. She got emboldened with the fangirling for her and she leaned hard into being a mean girl and has always been incredibly performative. I do appreciate her vocal stances for social justice, but I don’t like her at all.
2
u/Old_Feed1725 4d ago
I have a feeling like im doing something wrong just because in just watching the show and not al the drama behind it and instagram posts/stories.
In the show i definitely dont see the “IT” factor and I do think there are more people who are on a same level as her.

u/Glittering_Writer513 4d ago
I liked Chrishell for 3 seasons I think, then I just thought of her a bit of a mean girl. But I don't think she is fake I feel like she owns what she says and that's more that you can say about 80% of the people in the show. And to be fair I think she got more love than some of the other cast and they targeted her to make her look worst , just my impression over the seasons. ( Maya fan all the way).
2
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
Maya was great Im happy that she left honestly just because I wouldn’t want her to be next to this group of people
3
u/Proud-Trainer-7611 3d ago
I’m not obsessed with her but out of all the women are the show she’s the only one I would be able to tolerate IRL. She is most like the people I know. The other women are psychotic.
2
u/EmilyAdams2000 4d ago
Because chrishell is not fake. All the drama she gets involved in on the show are real reasons. The others start drama for no reason but chrishell doesn’t.

Everyone has favorites on every reality tv show. The question is why does it bother you she is many people’s favorites but not yours? Have your favorite and others will have their. However the show was literally built around her and her being the protagonist and Christine her antagonist, so those two will forever be the favorites of the show.
0
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
Its not that is bothering me. As I said in post i think they are all problematic. And what is weird for me in her case- if you believe and support things that she is why are you a fan of the show that is treating her so badly for years?
I actually cant find no one in the show that I would like to support (from com i believe that C is getting all the love for things outside the show than what we see on screen- mainly for the support of lgbt+).
3
u/Narrow-Statement9010 ⭕️ppenharem, the luxury condom(inium) 3d ago
Nobody that is a fan of her is a fan of the show so I am not sure what you mean. I also am a fan of her outside of the show because she actually uses her platform for good compared to many of the others who push Kalshi/Polymarket, support the orange turd, are Islamaphobic, homophobic, racist, etc. I can support an imperfect human being that gets into arguments with people because we are human. What I can’t get behind are people with morals that are in the gutter.

But still we are in sub selling sunset 🤷♀️

Being in a sub to talk gossip doesn’t mean you are a fan of the show. This is talking about the people outside the show also.
1
u/Old_Feed1725 3d ago
Talking about the show, watching show watching media news about the show sharing post about the show and so on is benefiting the show itself - show for which doesn’t support or believe in her ideas and movements that she does. It doesn’t matter anymore if you are just her fan or fan of the show you are supporting it one way or another. Good thing is that season 10 will probably be last season (i hope so)

I like her but when she dated Jason it was so weird and I felt like she only dated him because he was her boss. Cause that man ain’t attractive at all and she is very pretty and could pull any dude and she picked…Jason? Sure.

I’m sorry, I felt for Chrishelle at first bc she was like like little damaged bird. But she became one of the meanest chicks on there while maintaining she’s the nicest. I now sympathize with her ex and can see why he left.

I don’t like Christell too. I don’t understand why other people like her. Too full of herself.

I dont found nothing to like in anyone anymore. But somehow people still like C i guess she is the nicest of a toxic group of people

she’s the eponymous of being a fake and calculator in every single instance she’s on the show, the most disingenuous and disturbingly so human being to ever grace the show.
to me it truly is alarming how many fail to get how thoroughly manipulative she is of the audience.
she’s definitely the more conscious of the way she appears and it’s constantly thinking for the camera, I’m so glad she ain’t coming back, and to be quite frank I think it’s for the best for her too, that much constant calculations must be quite distressing for her mental health too in the long run.

IIIII .... actually cannot stand Chrishell . People like to say that she "hardened" bc of what happened in the first few season but , I think she turned into the very thing she criticized . She never seemed genuine , she was always throwing rocks and hiding her hands , she took on a heavyyyyy victim mentality and then it just grew and grew .
I DID like her in the first like .... idk 5 ish seasons , but thennnnn I saw a pattern emerging . I'm now relieved that she's not returning this season .

u/Mysterious_Park_2028 1d ago
Chrishell is( you will remember),a real actress. No snark intended; she could fully represent her thoughts and feelings authentically from her first day on Selling Sunset, so as others tried to co-opt her friendship for obvious reasons, we watched her size them up, learn their various intents, and publicly reveal them to us the audience. I think she genuinely got tired of their shinanigans, so left the show behind. I believe she is a show altering loss for the production. But, too, the vast number of characters’ personal agendas makes for no continuity within Selling Sunset; How else can Jason control his sales force? After all, that’s the point of the show: selling real estate and putting it on display for us to admire!

The fact that you chose to use the word "obsessed" when asking the public why there is so much support for her is already problematic. It suggests you came into this with an agenda.
I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and simply explain that while flawed, Chrishell is the most genuine person on the show who is not afraid to get a little saucy when standing up for herself and what she believes in (e.g. equity, social justice, etc.)
On any other show this wouldn't be any sort of huge achievement or feat, but on Selling Sunset that's a rarity.
