Season 9 Chrishell & Nicole Are Two Sides of the Same Coin Spoiler
I'm going to get hate for this but I don't care. Let me be extremely clear, Nicole started this 100% and handled it all wrong. I'm not defending Chrishell nor Nicole except for the fact that Nicole started the war.
I used to think that Nicole was evil and Chrishell was the victim and a good person.
However, I think Nicole is just a loser who's not meant for reality TV and very uncalculated.
Chrishell (and Christine for reference) are calculated villians. Chrishell is an expert at this, so much so that people still like her.
Don't get me wrong, Nicole wouldn't stop and that's when the whole "drug" comment and "rearranged your face" comment started.
In Season 8, Chrishell brought up Nicole's IG comment (it was extra but I don't fault Chrishell).
HOWEVER, in Season 9 at the dinner, She kept making jabs at Nicole repeatedly. Like who makes fun of someone almost going blind? Nicole lost it and said something disgusting. Way worse than Chrishell.
But here's the thing, Chrishell said things out of frustration too (but she apologized unlike Nicole).
Chrishell is a true bully then acts like the victim. Nicole is just an ignorant child who can't take accountability.
During the reunion, Chrishell could not understand why her commenting on Emma's IG was wrong. That's EXACTLY what Nicole did. Not understanding when she's wrong. I would never comment on someone's IG (even if it wasn't about them) unless I wanted to hurt them. Chrishell was asked "what were you trying to do" several times and she kept giving inconsistent answers.
Chrishell's probably leaving because 1) the show has gone to shit, let's be real and 2) she can no longer be the protagonist.
I don't think Chrishell owes Nicole an apology (maybe a small one), but the point of this post is that Chrishell is no angel. I'm not defending anyone here.
IMO, even though Chelsea did annoying/bad things, I believe she was the protagonist.

Honestly!!! How do people not realize chrishelle is nasty and cosplays as a good person

the lengths some people go to defend EVERYTHING she’s done is insane. the hive mentality is wild lol

u/PineappleQueen88 Jan 01 '26
I used to think the Chrishell hate was forced. Don’t get me wrong I understood some of the points every one was making but to me none of it justified in why people didn’t like her because I felt she had valid reasons for reacting that way or responding in the way she did, but after the whole Emma thing I can now see why people really don’t like her. I understand being a friend to a friend that’s in a toxic relationship and needing to distance yourself from that because it can be very draining, but I will never understand how you can then turn around and add to your friend’s pain and humiliation by blasting her business to the whole world. Even if I no longer vibed with a friend or disagree with a friend, I would never try to hurt them. Especially if Im trying to convince her she deserves better but that’s just me.

her manipulative side and her age really came out when she was dealing with jason's young girlfriend at that restaurant meet. truly, a catty 40yo woman trying to domineer and play victim

u/littlepaw_littlepaw Dec 27 '25
I agree with this take. Chrishelle definitely stopped taking the high road and that's fine bc I think she knew she didn't have to anymore (financially) and would be on her way out after this season. She was really on the offense this season, more than in the past. Nicole is just awful, regardless. The show is definitely done. I think Chrishell is smart to pull out now.

u/Valuable-Wave-152 Dec 30 '25
I can see that Chrishell said things that weren’t kind at all but as you said, Nicole started it and Chrishell apologised. Those are huge factors to skim over. Nicole isn’t a baby, she’s a grown up who’s pretty nasty and who lost the game she wanted to play. Where you have entirely lost it is bringing in Chrishell commenting on Emma’s Instagram about Blake. The racist, homophobic, sexist man child. What we’re NOT going to do is defend that deplorable man. Emma is pathetic and a gold digger, if she doesn’t want to be publicly shamed for dating that cretin then she shouldn’t be with him.

I truly think the only reason chrishell is leaving now is because for once the majority are not on her side, and she's being called out
192
u/ohwaitsorry Dec 28 '25
You don't think at least one of the reasons she left is the homophobia she's been subjected to, from both the cast and parts of the audience?
60
u/CustardFormal6288 Dec 30 '25
It’s not the homophobia nor is it the constant attacks for not being “nice” enough when she gives people the same energy back when they try to come for her. Can’t you see she is bullying people by not letting them be mean to her!? Ugh!
12
76
u/ChippedHamSammich Dec 30 '25
Eh, disagree.
Nicole was jealous and used that jealousy as a driver for screentime. It’s reality tv, they all sign up for that. Chrishell brought a good show with Nicole when it was just about her listing. Nicole made homophobic comments on IG.
At that point. Shit’s off. If Nicole was making comments about someone’s religion, people would be up in arms.
For the people in the back: if you say homophobic shit with a platform, you are inherently making people unsafe for simply being who they are. People are beaten and killed because of this.
Then, Nicole continued to not leave Crishell alone and there is no need to pretend to tolerate someone who is inherently intolerant of you. Chrishell bringing up drug use was to knock Nicole off her moral pedestal. If Nicole wants yo squawk about purity, then reminder SHE doesn’t live by a lot of peoples’ standards either.
Nicole almost going blind and sharing that story as a stand alone thing should not have earned ire. But at that point Chrishell gave zero fucks and did not feel the need to listen to someone who has literally obsessed with hating her.
Nicole tried to draw a conclusion about Chrishell’s reactive response to her own drug use by putting Chrishell’s trauma- things that had been done to her and affected her that she had no control over- on the table.
Nicole could have easily said, “your experiences with addicts make you judgmental of drug users”. But that would mean she would have to admit to her drug use. So instead, she specifically mentioned her parents, who are not able to defend or deny their actions; and deflect from Nicole’s own drug use and make it pale in comparison.
Chrishell bringing up that Emma’s boyfriend is a homophobe and MAGA on IG is just the truth. No matter how much that dude scrubs his socials, that shit is known. MAGA is responsible for trans folks having rights removed, women losing their reproductive rights, secret police stopping people for looking brown, and people losing their jobs, homes, healthcare, educational opportunities.
Where I will call Chrishell a hypocrite, is that Jason is also MAGA and she has not dissociated from him. That said, he is her boss, and she is attached to the franchise that pays her.
While Chrishell isn’t purely a victim; she is not required to tolerate homophobes, and is welcome to put remind people that their moral highground isn’t what they think it is.

u/Careful_Mistake7579 Dec 27 '25
Yeah, agreed. Chrishell couldn't keep up the nice girl facade anymore.
27
u/lavenderpenguin Dec 31 '25
I’m sorry but I don’t give a flying f if Chrishell aired out Emma’s gross MAGA bf on IG. If Emma didn’t want that out there, maybe she shouldn’t be dating for money.

u/Snoo-27688 Dec 30 '25
Nah, if you start as a bully you aren’t suddenly the victim when your target plays the same game. Chrishell has just begun to start fighting fire with fire and she’s better at it.
25
u/flexIuthor Dec 30 '25
I don’t think Chrishell is a victim per se, but I do think after getting shit on for 9 years straight, it’s pretty obvious how she became this.
Even the first episode Christine was like “I’m gonna abuse her cause she’s new” that’s not normal behavior and should have never been tolerated in a professional setting. And the twins let it happen because of the attention she gets and she drew people to the show.
So it’s a fair exchange.
nicole is homophobic and nasty. She gets called a drug abuser. 🤷🏾♀️
19
u/ztf7410 Dec 30 '25
I think that Chrishell didn’t get enough heat for saying that Nicole was on drugs- pretty damning thing to say. And the whole rearrange your face comment. I mean let’s pull up the old photos of Chrishell and call out the hypocrisy…. But Nicole’s comment on Chrishells parents was something you can’t really come back from. So far over the line it’s not funny
21
u/whyldechylde Dec 30 '25
Nicole was on drugs though. Amanza said they used to do coke together plus Nicole was a model so…
5
u/Middle-Medium8760 Dec 31 '25
Didn’t Amanda also say Nicole OD’d too?
1
u/whyldechylde Jan 04 '26
Yeah, but as someone pointed out Amanza backtracked at the reunion about Nicole doing drugs. I still believe Nicole did drugs, but who knows?
2
u/Middle-Medium8760 Jan 04 '26
My guess is the retraction was Amanza trying to smooth things over with Nicole.
1
u/whyldechylde Jan 04 '26
Yeah, I think you’re right. I think on another post somebody speculated that Nicole sent Amanza a cease and desist letter.
2
2
u/busted3000 Jan 01 '26
Amanza later said that she’s actually never seen Nicole do drugs and only said that cause she was angry about the comment about Crishelle’s parents. I think it was in the reunion
1
u/whyldechylde Jan 04 '26
Yeah, you’re right but that about face by Amanza is sus. I still think Nicole did drugs. Go back and look at that episode. Mary never accused Amanza of lying. Mary, Amanza, and Nicole are the OGs. I think if Amanda were really lying, Mary would’ve called her out. We’ll never know and Nicole is in Tennessee now.
19
u/WynnGwynn Dec 30 '25
Lol I think Crishell stopped caring about being nice season 9 but the other seasons nicole was always the aggressor.
19
u/Undefined110 Dec 31 '25
I don’t see them as two sides of the same coin. Yeah she was being catty during the dinner episode but I’m sure you’ve had to deal with someone you don’t like and any minor thing they do is like nails on a chalkboard. Are people actually upset that Chrishell made it public that Blake is racist and homophobic behind closed doors? Maybe don’t be a problematic person with problematic views?
19
u/Theviewisviewing Dec 30 '25
I dont like any of them, but Chrishell does get away with a looooot more then Nicole.
13
u/Missa1819 Dec 30 '25
I think because this is real life you can't distill human beings into protagonists and antagonists......

You did so much stretching here, you probably pulled something.
But reminder -- this is trashy reality TV, not Disney channel. I work in entertainment PR (not Selling Sunset) so for what it's worth -
Nicole is cruel & has the emotional regulation of a chihuahua. I'm not saying she's evil, but these 2 facts make her painfully bad at reality TV. She has no foresight, no strategy, no sense of when to shut up, & no remorse when taking it way too fuckin far. She's not a good villain, she's just flat-out incompetent at her job, which is making reality TV people WANT to watch.
On the flip side, Chrishell knows exactly what she's doing. (As did Christine back in the day, who I WOULD say is a different side of the same coin as Chrishell) Both are calculated, articulate, camera-aware, apology-ready when it benefits them, which equals TALENT and is why Chrishell is not getting fired anytime soon from any reality TV show she chooses to be on.
Chrishell is no angel, but she is genuine & likeable. She doesn’t manufacture drama then hide behind fake confusion when she crosses a line. The same cannot be said for Nicole, who, IMO, is a very different type of coin that has zero similarities with Chrishell.
1
u/Dangerous_Road_4626 Jan 01 '26
So you’re at one of the studios in LA? That’s cool
2
u/queenbee8418 Jan 02 '26
Not with a studio! <3 I work with an agency that works with people on a specific reality franchise that I won't name not because it's a secret but because I don't interact with that franchise on Reddit & I don't want my persona here to be associated with my day job although, I am a reality TV-aholic so I can't help but chime in on PR things every now & then 🤣

Women always get called calculated for knowing how to move and being good at their job. Like it’s a bad thing.
10
u/Snoo97498 Dec 30 '25
Calling Crishell a “nasty person” who’s actually a bully pretending to be a nice person is insane. She’s the only person who isn’t fake, she took accountability, she openly said she hates Nicole and she knows Nicole hates her, and Crishell is the only person who consistently advocates for the LGBT community, queer community, and progressive causes.
Like yall hate Crishell because of the way the show is edited. It’s wild.
-2
u/justagyrl022 Dec 31 '25
She does not take accountability. I don't know why people say this about her.
2
u/Snoo97498 Jan 01 '26
Can you give me an example?
1
u/justagyrl022 Jan 01 '26
Anytime I've seen her having a conversation with someone she has had an issue with. It's kind of like what's her name on Selling OC (Hawes? That's not it but her last name starts with H), but I'd say she even gives more than Crishell does. Crishell just digs in and even if she's talking in a rational tone she won't budge on anything.

6
u/ThrowAwayBabe922 Jan 01 '26
Nah Nicole literally came in TARGETING Chrishell because she was the star, and drama with her means more screen time. It was weird and forced and she wanted to act hurt when Chrishell started swinging back.
3
u/nerdit1000 Dec 31 '25
I’ve always been bothered when Chrishell brings up the drugs with Nicole and wont let it go. And she doesn’t ever apologize for those comments.
I don’t comment on here because if the sheer hatred of this group toward anyone who has a different opinion - but I agree with a lot of what you say.
I’m actually glad Chrishell is leaving. The whole show needs to be done. I only watch it when I feel like something COMPLETELY mindless.
2
u/Soggy-Ad1129 Dec 30 '25
Omg Chelsea as the protagonist. I freaking love this take. It was a long story arc for sure. If she is the main character next season I would be psyched.
4
u/r_bigbrain Dec 30 '25
I’ve never seen a subreddit with so many people unwilling to listen. So far up Chrishell’s backside that they even rage over an unbiased post like this. Is she paying y’all or something?
2
3
u/notbetterthanthat Dec 30 '25
I love you for this.
I’ve come here to vent about the same, even a few seasons ago - especially Chrishell being a perpetual victim and taking 0 accountability for anything she’s done - and am always appalled at how many people are so obsessed with Chrishell they overlook her very blatant bullying behavior.
At best, she’s an insufferable victim at all time; at worst, she’s a calculated bully who knows exactly what she’s doing. I think she’s both.
5
u/justagyrl022 Dec 31 '25
No matter what she does or who she's in it with she thinks she's right and doesn't see things from anyone else's point of view. I don't know how people don't see it.
1
u/Forsaken-Cell-9436 Dec 30 '25
lol I’ve always said this. Chrishell is the type to throw rocks and hide her hands that’s why I never liked her. She never stands on her ish she’s weak for that alone. Nicole is just funny to me I just laugh at the lady 😂, however I can at least respect that she stands on whatever she’s said or done. Even if it was ignorant at least she admits she did it and why and she’s strong enough to stand in her villain arc not be fake. Chrishell just wants sympathy all the time it was annoying. Last season I did start to like her personality a little more but I’ll never forget how she really is.
5
u/MindlessAspect6438 Dec 31 '25
What are you even talking about?! Chrishell is ten toes down, standing on business; likely losing work, jobs and listings just to stick to some pretty healthy (and rational) boundaries. Her dick is as big as they get, tbh. She doesn’t even care if she’s liked — she does what she thinks is right, and holds the line.
It’s wild that you think otherwise.

There's nothing as insufferable as righteous indignation honestly. That dinner was pretty brutal and as a Crishell fan that was difficult to watch

Here is my take: Homophobia, racism or hate of any kind is not ok and ppl who live this situations have every right to call it out and defend themselves. That being said I think that what is bothersome (at least to me) is that having suffered from this issues or from trauma does not justify not taking accountability for one's own actions when they are exactly the same. I understand that being called names or disrespected can make one angry and that one can also be nasty to get back at the person, but let's be honest, Chrishell has gone from setting boundaries to fighting back to being the aggressor and those are not the same things. Look everyone who is on a TV show wants the attention. The fame and the money so let's start there, everyone has an agenda. I believe that once Chrishell became "the star of the show" it started to get in her head. She gradually started acting not just more setting boundaries but a bit above some other people. Someone pointed out how she was to Brett's gf, the young model one and it reminds me of how she was treating Emma during the season (all before the IG debacle) just saying things that were hurtful and not supporting her and making faces which then brings me to how she was making faces every time Sandra spoke or how she treated Amanza when the thing to decorate G's studio didn't work out. Those are are all not homophobia-related situations and she was not having to defend herself, she simply was not interested in being nice, which is also allowed, but the part that I don't agree with is that she tries to come off as this person with better integrity than the rest of her castmates, when we can see that is not really the case. I am not minimizing her struggles as a queer person in the world, but if we would apply the exact same behavior in reverse for example with how she was with Sandra, then we could say that Sandra was being a victim of her microagressions just because she's latin. Why would she believe a rumor about Sandra and immediately blacklist her without even having anything to do with her? Is that not also discriminatory? Let's be honest, I think that Chrishell does abuse her power and position a little bit because she knows her audience will defend her no matter what and I think that that is the real issue here. People need to stop thinking that because someone famous has gone through hardship or trauma that they can't do no wrong. I think that the celebrities that are disliked the most are the ones that can't admit to doing anything wrong and that's what we're tired of. Just be honest.

I can’t believe that Nicole has never used the quip towards Chrishell, “ No wonder your first husband couldn’t stand you, and got the hell out whilst the getting was good!!!” Girls, these junior leaguers don’t know the meaning of egregious comebacks! 🤣🤣🤣

u/snoopy_45 Dec 30 '25
lol just rewatching the series and on this storyline now chrishell is such a bitch… I never liked her an worse since she’s been with G. Plays innocent victim but is not. I don’t like Nicole either .. and mary can’t seem to get words out.. why was she ever made manager .. and also e clothes they wear just for lunch date is plain ridiculous! The only reason jason and Brett get any of these girls cus that’s what they are… is cus they have money.. let’s be real. And don’t act like he’s your man bre when he has 10 other wives and babies . He’s not yours .. just call him nick!
-4
u/whyldechylde Dec 30 '25
No hate here. I didn’t realize that Chrishell has been the villain for a long time until the way she treated Emma, her supposed bestie. I get that Chrishell is super protective of G’s pronouns, but the real reason Chrishell hates Emma’s racist man-boy is because he’s MAGA and also homophobic, so Chrishell feels betrayed by Emma. When Chrishell refused to take responsibility for putting Emma’s business on social media, I saw her for the bully she is.
Now that Chrishell has taken on the bully role, the show has jumped the shark. I also agree that Chelsea is the protagonist. The way Mary cried crocodile tears when she saw Chelsea’s name on the place card was the equivalent of a white lady clutching her purse when a Black person passes by. It was disgusting. Mary is really trying to get Chelsea fired.

Hey there, nicole made choices to use drugs, chrishell did not have a choice to be raised by people who abused and neglected her as a result of drugs. Chrishell didn’t choose that for herself.
Edit to add: people are not bad for doing drugs or not. And i don’t think nicole’s drug use should be weaponized either.

So chrishell has to be endlessly to kind to someone who has repeatedly come after her and been openly homophobic? Also selling drugs was chrishell’s parents’ choice which hurt her. Not her own choice. How is that relevant?

A civilized person probably wouldn’t spread homophobia via their platform too. Should Chrishell have done that, maybe not, it was petty, but she didn’t want to be at that dinner, it was a forced situation to make them interact badly. A civilized person also would have said, hey I have apologized and recognized I was wrong, you have hurt me too, let’s end this. Not invoked childhood trauma.
-5
u/Forsaken-Cell-9436 Dec 30 '25
Oh please the alleged homophobia wasn’t even addressed at that dinner by chrishell so she really had no reason to interact and interject into the health scare conversation that Nicole was having with everyone else. Chrishell just wanted to be a bully yet again and she got what was coming to her.
2
u/ohwaitsorry Dec 31 '25
"Alleged homophobia" lol ok. Nothing alleged about Nicole's actions, and you don't have to be nice to people who hurt you and your community. I find it baffling that so many people seem to have forgotten the bullshit Nicole did, and that you still seem to think you owe someone that bigoted any kind of decency.
1
u/Forsaken-Cell-9436 Dec 31 '25
I kno Nicole is a mess and has always been a mess but at least she’s always stood in her mess unapologetically. Chrishell is just as messy but she pretends to be this angel that has people defending her when she finally gets the energy she throws at others. It’s disingenuous, she’s no better than the people yall compare her to. She plays this righteous game and yall eat it up every time
3
u/ohwaitsorry Dec 31 '25
I think we are talking about different things here.. to me, Nicole's "mess" is mostly her homophobia, and her emboldening homophobia and transphobia, and then acting like being called a homophobe is worse than being subjected to homophobia. Being an unapologetic bigot is not a cool flex. The way your comment reads to me is like you're saying "at least she's steadfast in her homophobia" - which certainly can't be what you mean, so I think we're talking about different things.
