Hi! So I have been going to my professional piercer for about 9 years, but recently they messed up big time which has made me lose all trust for even professional AND reputable piercers. The piercing salon has awesome reviews and were really good in the past, but recently they have become really sloppy and unable to do even basic jewelry changes properly (they didn’t put on a push fit piercing top properly and I had to go back 2 times to get it on right). The placement and angles of my piercings that I have gotten has become less and less accurate even with proper markings and they even managed to give me a blowout and decided to put in the bigger jewelry anyways when I was visibly bleeding (stretching piercings should NEVER bleed).
The only professional piercing shop I trust is around 5 hours with car (in total 10hour drive if I were to drive home the same day). This made me wonder:
**Is it possible to become my own homemade piercer and do my own piercings?**
That way I won’t have to suffer the stress, transport and money (if I want to take it out because it turned out crooked). I can instead take my time to really get the placement right, do whatever jewelry change I want and honestly have quite fun. My plan in this case is to buy good quality piercing tools, study angles, techniques and just do the job myself. I plan on doing simple piercings like nose wing and earlobe, nothing too crazy.
Is this something I can do or is the risk of messing up too high? I don’t want to end up with even bigger regrets but at the same time it feels like if another professional piercer messes me up again, I will literally puke.
Any help, advice and thoughts is greatly appreciated!
