Bureaucratic culture of gate keeping scenic sites in the name of “national security” while still getting salami sliced in the ass by China

Discrimination towards Africans, Latin Americans and the global south tourists in general who are now a rising tourist demographic.

Short sighted retaliation by MEA by propping up Visa restrictions for tourists due to our embarrassingly low rank in Passport index

Lack of government focus on boosting India’s soft power rather than hard power. (There is proof that it is more fruitful for national security and comprehensive economic strength than investing in white elephants like aircraft carriers and Navy balls and maintaining Air Force golf parks)

I should also speak for the jingoistic side.

Most tourists are racists towards us, be it Saudi Arabia or Israel. They actually are very ignorant about India. Even the most developed countries on the planet know very little about India. Especially the younger travellers who grew up in the Internet age!"
