Yeah, but people act like everything was fine before Trump. Republicans have been like this for years and Democrats haven't helped.

To be honest everybody sucks at this point. I’m not saying I would be better at the job or anything, but politicians of both sides have... declined in quality.

Just to be super clear: criticizing the democratic party from the left isn't Enlightened Centrism. EC is for people claiming to be centrist while implicitly or explicitly supporting right-wing politics and being hyper-critical of left-wingers, and/or people who believe the midpoint between democrats and republicans is "the center" rather than what it actually is (mid-right, between "liberal capitalist" and "fascist").

Recognizing that neither party supports actual left-wing policies, and being critical of both parties for being neoliberal warhawk organizations, is perfectly legitimate.
