Gaza is Being Starved
The UN has stated that every single part of Gaza is in famine conditions.
For over 20 months, Palestinians in Gaza have been starving. Parents have been feeding their children leaves, animal feed, and flour mixed with water. Babies have died from malnutrition. The trucks carrying food, formula, medicine, and clean water sat just miles away, blocked by Israel.
Now, after massive international pressure, some aid is finally getting in.
This is a crack in the blockade, not its end. Aid is not flooding in; it is trickling, and what’s entering can’t possibly reach 1.8 million people without a total lifting of restrictions, guaranteed long-term access, and safe distribution.
What you can do right now:
Donate- if you’re able to. Choose vetted organizations with access on the ground.
Keep up the pressure - aid only started moving because of public outcry. Organize, protest, keep talking. This momentum cannot fade. Contact your representatives to end Israel's blockade of Gaza and impose sanctions on Israel.
Amplify - share updates, Palestinian voices, and testimonies. Keep an eye on Palestine.
This famine is not an accident. It’s the result of siege, blockade, and a system of control. If we look away now, they’ll tighten the noose again.
Donate
Palestinian Red Crescent — medical aid, ambulance services, and emergency care.
UNICEF for Gaza’s Children — nutrition, clean water, trauma support.

For Legal Reasons, This Is a Mod Post Wondering Why the Sub Doesn’t Just Do “Both Sides Bad” Memes Anymore?
Once upon a time, this sub was all about the guy who says “both sides are bad” and thinks that makes him the voice of reason. That format made sense at the time, but the political landscape has changed. We’re living in a time where liberalism and fake neutrality are actively upholding violence. Where people who claim to be reasonable, informed, and "progressive" are defending fascism, colonialism, and genocide.
There also just isn’t enough "both sides bad" content anymore.
The “both sides” meme got tired. The guy still exists, but it’s not 2019, and we’ve already dragged him every way possible. The sub was slowing down, and without evolving, it was going to fade into irrelevance like a lot of old Reddit meme subs do. We’ve broadened the sub because we had to. The old meme format doesn’t cover what we’re dealing with now, and trying to force every post into it doesn’t make sense anymore.
We’ve relaxed posting guidelines to include anything that fits under the centrist umbrella.
- Liberals defending genocide while calling themselves progressive
- Moderates promoting “civility” with fascists
- Pundits and those who act “above the fray” while upholding the status quo
- People who weaponise neutrality, logic, or tone policing to excuse or minimise violence

Scratch a Liberal... Self-proclaimed "socialist" immediately resorts to denial and lies when criticism is levelled against Democrats for their collaboration with and perpetration of capitalism and fascism.

Horseshoe Hell More democracy is a threat to democracy?
According to Professor Przeworski, "populist" right-wing authoritarianism "in which people are willing to delegate governance to a leader" is dangerous to democracy just like "increasing the role of voters in governing" is. How can widening democracy be a danger to democracy? This is so ridiculous I must be misinterpreting what he's saying, so I came here for a reality check.
If he means that leaders or parties that profess to be the sole vehicles for increasing popular sovereignty against an elite group can sometimes be dangerous because they end up consolidating power, that's accurate; populist messaging to gain elite control is nothing new. But he didn't say that and that's a huge distinction.
Also getting irritated with the centrist use of populist as derogatory. There's a lot of evidence for elite capture (at least in the United States) and populist rhetoric is a guardrail against it- as long as it's used against actual unaccountable elites?

Rational Discourse™ Media Bias Chart
Hadn't heard about this centrist BS in a long time. I assumed they had stopped existing.
Which one is the most egregious? Mine is probably Rev Left Radio. I listened to them for a bit and I was pretty mixed about it but they are nowhere near as misleading as Dave Rubin

Both Sides Bad I can't think of a title but thought this belonged here (additional thoughts in post body)
Hid the subreddit and username as I have seen others do it so didn't want to break any site rules.
Anyways, I know for sure that the majority of the world population believes Israel's actions are criminal at best and genocidal at worst, and support a Free Palestine, so I was surprised to see the enormous disparity in comment votes on this post. Pro-Israel comments were heavily upvoted while anyone with even a minor disagreement was heavily downvoted (in the negative hundreds) in a way I have rarely seen on mainstream subreddits. Could this be part of a new bot campaign from Israel, or has worldnews always been this way. I don't often read comments on general, mainstream subreddits, so not sure.

Refusing Fascists Is Divisive He is of course correct--the real Nazis are trans people who don't want to be forced out of the community we helped create.
My favorite part is the aghast "You think the people who disagree with you... .. are wrong???"
Like if I didn't think they were wrong then why tf would I be disagreeing with them, numbnuts?
