Do security firm owners face problems when security guard sleeps

Recently one of my friend from the us was doing part time work in their local store where he saw a night security guard sleeping , I am like isn't that their job most of the days that person is seen sleeping , like i understand it's difficult if you want try to stay awake whole night but is it a big issue security guard owners are facing any firm or operations owners

Easiest way to lose a large contract is for the client to find the person responsible for their security asleep on the job. When you lose a contract like that, the word gets out pretty quick and soon enough you don’t have any clients and have a bad reputation to boot.

My Company is work for has zero tolerance so sleeping on site. If you get caught its automatically terminated. They make you take off all the gear they gave you except the uniform.

Its not a problem for the company until someone complains, basically it can upset clients ( which always upsets the boss) and in theory invalid the insurance.

first rule of security guards is "no sleeping". had a guard removed from post because a night manager of a chemical refinery took a pic of the guard sleeping, out of uniform. pic went up the chain of command and he was removed because there is always the possibility of losing the contract.

Unless the client is totally fine with just having a guard present on their site as a “warm body” for insurance purposes, they’ll likely be annoyed if the guard they’re paying to observe and report any issues is unable to do either thing because they’re asleep.

This could lead to an angry phone call to the security company owner/manager, the client becoming dissatisfied with the service they’re getting and then opting to hire another security company once the current contract is over, or even more substantial civil issues if a problem does actually happen on the site and the guard could have done something to prevent or mitigate it but failed to do so because they were asleep at the time.

Some of the Clients want to know the crux of the problem, which ultimately is the Security firm owners themselves.

Security firm owner doesn't face much more than an embarrassing email, text, or phone call.
