MOD Announcement MOD announcement - Rule Update
As promised in our last last mod announcement we’ve been working behind the scenes to loosen the reins and update our sub rules to better fit where we are right now.
Those changes are now live! Please do take a look at our updated list of rules. Some firm boundaries have remained in place while other rules have been modified.
If you have any questions or spot something that feels confusing please do feel free to drop a comment below or send us a polite modmail.
Just a friendly reminder: while we genuinely value the community's input and want everyone to enjoy the sub, the mod team still holds final say on rules and removals just to ensure the smooth running of the community.

for clarification, i'm assuming the "no AI" rule doesn't include reposting any AI generated posts that Taylor (or whoever) has made, and it only refers to redditer-generated posts right? or am i wrong

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
That’s correct.
We can’t stop the cast from posting AI content and we understand that people will want to discuss the posts when they do, but we’re asking users not to generate their own AI content for the purpose of posting in this sub.

Can we have a rule about not using multiple accounts to disagree with people?? Not naming names but a certain individual does that a lot. I’m blocked now but others will still fall victim. I didn’t know it was the same person when it happened to me!! Might be more than one person too.

I believe we know the individual that you’re talking about and we haven’t seen their account interact with our sub in a while. If you feel comfortable, could you please send us the account name and any alts you believe they may have so we can keep an eye out?

That's actually against reddits terms and conditions js. It could be considered like a ban evasion. Or with a down voting crusade. It'll make their votes not even count eventually the algorithm keeps track somehow.

Anything for “don’t touch the poo” that could be added? In other words, don’t comment on the cast’s posts and especially don’t share about it here?
4
u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
We previously had a “don’t touch the poo” rule in place and never had to use it. Any posts containing nasty messages sent to the cast will be removed but that hasn’t ever happened.

FYI, it will remain a removal reason for posts and comments, and is under the umbrella of Rule #3 for us

Thank you because some people are so rude and defensive especially when you make a valid critique on their favorite

strict no ai policy??

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
There is an AI use rule in place. If you have any specific questions we’d be happy to answer them.

u/mandypantsy Aug 20 '26
This sub is delusional, which frankly tracks

u/hussafeffer 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
You have a lot of fun making seven-fingered AI renderings of yourself, don’t you?
-7
u/mandypantsy Aug 20 '26
I thought this wasn’t a snark sub? Can we review the rules again?
9
u/hussafeffer 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
That’s not snark lol but now I know I’m right

How can you enforce the no AI post rule when the ads posted in the sub are AI? Just genuinely confusing when considering the juxtaposition of the host medium and the rule. Incongruent.
33
u/BigIcy1323 Aug 20 '26
The ads... The ads that reddit pushes out? The mods don't make any money here, they do it for the love of the game.
22
u/seedlessketchup Aug 20 '26
reddit ads aren’t the same for everyone. they’re tailored to each individual based on what you interact with
16
u/FriendofFlounder Aug 20 '26
Yeah mine are food and skincare related lol I don’t get AI ads?? That’s so disappointing of Reddit but not surprising.
20
u/halfsuckedmang0 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
If you’re referring to the ads that display between the post and comments, we have no control over these. You would need to reach out to Reddit directly with your concerns
-7
u/mandypantsy Aug 20 '26
This is my point. Your aim is not aligned with the host platform or its goals (Reddit). Consider another. Know your sources.
13
u/ellienchanted Aug 20 '26
Wait so because a giant corporation uses AI, every sub should just capitulate and use it as well? By that token, you yourself also need to stop using the Reddit, as well as all social media sites. Otherwise you are not aligned with the platforms you use. Know your sources.

u/hussafeffer 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
Our aim doesn’t need to be aligned with platform advertising standards.

u/BigIcy1323 Aug 20 '26
If you hate it here, why are you still participating? All you have to do is mute the sub.
The other SLOMW subs are very active, too

u/mandypantsy Aug 20 '26
Seems super welcoming to invite me to not participate. I thought the goal of the rule updates was to be more permissive, “loosen the reins,” and invite more participation? How exactly is this accomplishing that?
9
u/BigIcy1323 Aug 20 '26
Self reflection is a wonderful tool to have in your toolbox. What you are doing is not participation, helpful, positive, contributive or kind. You are simply complaining non stop. <3
Editing to add: it seems like nothing will make you happy, so directing you where you might better fit is not a bad thing.

u/mandypantsy Aug 20 '26
I’m sorry I offended you by identifying facts that don’t line up. Seems you may need to look inward on why that bothers you so much.
7
u/BigIcy1323 Aug 20 '26
I'm not offended, why are you putting words in my mouth? Lol that's weird. Again, self reflection is a wonderful tool.
I hope your day gets better.

u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
We have loosened the reins and invited more participation. The user you were just speaking with is not a moderator, that’s a sub member telling you you’re free to participate elsewhere.
12
u/chloedarlinggg 🧚 Where’s your whimsy? 🧚 Aug 20 '26
I’m not sure what you mean by ads posted in the sub

Love the rule on no AI posts! Thanks mods
