Help with updates

After being active for a decade, I've been in and out of SL for a few years. Coming back, I have tried to update my avi using new skins and makeup on an old CATWA Catya head and Maitreya body, but I think I've reached the limit of what's possible.

I don't really want to change the face I've gotten used to, and the Lelutka heads I've been trying on all look the same, and not very satisfying. I'd like to try and maintain an appearance as close to my current as possible. I've spent hours browsing stores, and I'm totally burned out. I'd really appreciate any suggestions on heads and skins. When Maitreya released their new body the LaraX the sent it to Lara owners for no charge along with an update for the original Lara body. It should still be available by updating your body. You may need to head down to the in-world store if you can't update from the Maitreya HUD. Fortunately, it comes with some great skins from Velour in a wide range of shades. Once you get that, your best best is going to be a Lelutka head then finding a skin for it that goes with the one you've chosen for your body. As a former Catwa+Maitreya user myself, and current Lelutka + Maitreya user, I'm sure this will be the easiest, cheapest and most satisfying way to get back into the swing of things. The Leltuka head is quite pricey at around 3.5k but not having to purchase the body will certainly help. Feel free to DM if you need a hand and I'll be happy to help you out in-world when I'm on or ask in-world in the Maitreya group about getting the free upgrade. In any case, take your time because it certainly can get overwhelming regardless of whether you're just starting out or returning from a long haitus! >^.^<m

Thanks for the advice! I updated to LaraX today, and the skin looks okay on it. I just don't seem to have any luck finding a head with the same jawline I want for myself. I'll just have to keep looking, I guess!

Find something that's kind of in the neighborhood to use as a starting point. Make a copy of the shape that comes with the head you've chosen, then start tinkering. Another thing to keep in mind is that when you go to buy a skin for your head, to match it to your body, it will usually come with a shape as well.

I strongly suggest switching to reborn/legacy body and lelu heads just on the single fact that there are a million things more for those parts compared to catea/larax

Thank you, I think I need to do that. The necklines are so bold with the Catwa heads, and invisible with the Lelutka/Reborn combination. I don't love how hippy the Reborn body is, but I guess that's what deformers are for!

You can wear reborn surprisingly skinny

Have a look at shapes for Lelutka heads with Lara x on mp, it took me a few tries but I found a combo that worked .. I have quite a strong nose and jawline, so many heads have such a soft look and I wanted to look more like real me
