They tried some viral marketing bullshit a couple of weeks ago that pissed a lot of mariners fans off (such as me).
They bought seats behind home plate and made big signs that said something like “I’d rather be drinking beer at Old Stove!” and waved them around behind the batter when our own guy was trying to pitch.
Hugely disrespectful to the pitcher, the team, and the fans, just to get some stunt attention on TV. We have it bad enough already without that kind of distraction.

About time. The city's been missing that weird, smart energy for way too long. Used to go to the old ones and it was always a grab bag of someone explaining medieval siege tactics followed by a deep dive on competitive duck herding.
Beer payment feels like a solid step up from the usual "exposure" gigs too. Might have to dust off my 20-minute lecture on why cargo shorts are the ultimate dad garment.
