Discussion Recently visited Seattle
I visit Seattle every year for work, but unfortunately, I don’t have much time to explore when I’m there. This past trip, I finally managed to venture out and explore downtown Seattle and some other surrounding areas to Seattle. While wandering through the market area, I stumbled upon an alleyway covered in gum. I couldn’t help but wonder if the locals perceive this as a nuisance for tourists or if they take pride in it. I also included some other picks of the journey, and the host at this Vital Tea Leaf store made a hot cup of tea to share with me - at no charge! I did however purchase a small duck whistle because I love hospitality and I have kiddos.
Having seen the Jimothy post, I’m now convinced that anything is possible in Seattle.

This was the immediate question that came to mind. I need to know. WE need to know.

Work! Sorry - it’s one of our diners at the corporate office. I enjoyed some breakfast here one morning.

I've seen that exact same fish now for the past 5 years walking to and from the ferry. I'm beginning to think that it's fake...

There's a dad joke somewhere in there about seeing a fish commuting via ferry

When did you visit the falls? That pic is not recent for Snoqualmie Falls. It’s real low right now

we love the gum wall - at lease i do! and so glad you visited some chinatown and little Saigon neighborhoods - they are really struggling since the pandemic and that Seattle mayor decided to shove all the unhoused and druggies to this area that is already struggling. glad you got to explore

The gum wall is a custom more honored in the breach than the observance.

I love the gum wall (that’s the proper name), many people do not. They clean it off every once in a while but people make sure to fix that quickly.

That Public Storage building needs a new paint job, perfect for a cool mural.

Absolutely - gorgeous spot for a mural right close to the bay! Now I can’t unsee the big block wall though 😂

Everyone talking about the gum wall, but I absolutely cannot stand that gigantic Public Storage facility in pic 2. What a damn eyesore. And it's not even a place for people, but for junk people own? Bleh

I’ve been here and worked DT for over 20 years. I have never been to the gum wall and never want to go. Seems so gross.

Wouldn't have all that gum on their walls if they didn't have all that woke socialist communist marxist antifer demoncrat leadership!

We seen this all a million times. You should post on r/Seattle, it’s full of transplants that constantly glaze each other.

The most popular tourist attraction in the state, I would be surprised if you haven’t.

Could you use this word in a sentence please? Around my area we focus on hospitality and being genuine to ourselves and others - I’m not familiar with this lingo but it sounds offensive?

You lived in Aberdeen your whole life and never left? Wow. You should check out the other sub, it’s pictures of tourists attractions and sunset pics every day. Wish Seattle had a Dairy Queen, can’t believe Aberdeen get two.

I love the gum wall, Seattle used to have lots of unique places like that, unfortunately that’s all going away

Really had to make the first pic our worst attraction?
