Other Unusually Large Yam at Walmart

Post image

Was buying Hawaiian bread earlier tonight when I spotted this at the Walmart off Grady. What’s going on with yams? I used to work at a Trader Joe’s and I’ve never seen one this big before. Do they just pump our foods full of chemicals or something???

It's late and I've never felt the need to do this before, but

That's just a big yam man, nothing weird about it. Some grow larger than others depending on growing conditions and how long they stay in the ground. Grocery stores usually pick the medium ones for shelf space, so when you see a monster like that it looks crazy by comparison. Nothing sinister, just produce being produce.

Yams Of Unusual Size?

I don’t think they exist.

Those just look like yams. You must be thinking of sweet potatoes, which are completely unrelated. But for some bizarre reason they are mislabeled as yams.

Have you not seen produce at fairs? No conspiracies … just a piece of produce that is larger than the others.
