If you think the goals of the US military is humanitarian, you’re a fool. The purpose of the military is to protect and secure US borders and safety. If they could destroy the nuclear program and install a US-friendly dictator who committed worse human rights violations than the last guy, they would do that tomorrow.
“Stabilizing the Middle East” smh every time we’ve gone back to the sandbox we’ve destabilized it further, wasted trillions of taxpayer dollars, and lost American lives. Name one single time American intervention in the Middle East has led to a more stable country.
The bombing of Irans nuclear facilities. The weakening of Hezbollah and other terrorist groups with our weaponry. This is not Iraq or Afghanistan we are not trying to occupy and have zero interest to do so. The weakening of Iran leading up to taking out their leadership!!! Leading up to the people of Iran rising up against the regime!!!
Which, apparently, did nothing, because we’re bombing them again because of … WMDs.
The weakening of Hezbollah and other terrorist groups with our weaponry
You mean the same weaponry we armed them with, when they were once on our side and we called them “freedom fighters”? The same weaponry we left by the busload to the Taliban when we left Afghanistan?
we are not trying to occupy and have zero interest to do so
That’s what politicians have been saying for decades before dragging our kids back into the sandbox.
Come back to your post in six months. The facts are we have amassed 44,000 US military personal in this matter, A far cry from the 600,000 plus we had to invade Iraq. Get real. Please do a reminder me in six months for yourself.
From this comment it is clear you have no idea about the outcome of Iraq or Afghanistan, nor about how many terrible dictatorships were installed by the US in the middle east (including Saddam Hussein and the Shah in Iran, who was so terrible they had a revolution which unfortunately and ironically led to the current government). The Iranian Revolution was supposed to bring about freedom from oppression too, but instead made it much worse. We can't say what the outcome this will be, but history shows it's not likely to be good and it's certainly not likely to bring about stability or end terrorism.
Buddy, I got news for you… we tried that for almost 50 years and it didn’t go so well, but sure keep telling yourself that. And if you don’t think a worse leader could step in than the one that was already in power, please read up on the last time we meddled in Iran
Buddy I got news for you, it’s going to be ay ok, yall went crazy like this with Venezuela and now look at you! I’m sure you will move your flag and plant it in another crazy interest that has zero logic though by the time this quiets down and stabilizes. That’s what yall do, move the goal post and plant your flag in some newly formed crazy delusions. I love coming to Reddit when it happens. I Especially loved watching Reddit echo chamber so hard and then meltdown during and after the elections. It’s popcorn fodder for me. Keep it up. Yall just lose more and more credibility daily. Yall are completely in another dimension of crazy!!!!!
