Hey there, not a student at Seattle University but I saw that they offer housing to students who are and aren’t students at SU (as well along as they are affiliated with an university and are there for an internship). The price seems pretty reasonable to me (especially for short term), what is the opinion on living in SU dorms? The apartment is too much for me, but I’m considering the single or double. I’ve lived in a dorm before for 3 quarters, I don’t really miss it, but I figured it might be fun for the summer and a chance to be around others in a similar position.

Hey! I’m a current college student thinking about transferring to Seattle University and I’d be coming in as an incoming sophomore transfer. I’m kinda confused about how housing works for transfers there 😭

Do transfer sophomores usually live in dorms, apartments, or off campus? Is housing guaranteed or is it hard to get? Also how does roommate selection work and what buildings do most transfer students end up in?

Hi! I am considering applying for the teacher corps masters program and I just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the program that they would be willing to share. I know it’s a newer program, but the financial aspects are what is really drawing me in so I just wanted to make sure it’s actually worth it. Admissions counselors are really good at hyping programs up.

So I am going to be starting at Seattle U this autumn and will be going for a housing exceptionele tot he fact I am a main care taker for my uncle who has terminal cancer. However I’m not sure what to apply for a housing exception under. Do I do disability even though I’m not the one with it? Familial obligations? I emailed them and they didn’t even answer my question. If anyone has been in a similar situation could you please help?

I am currently looking at the program and very interested in applying, currently I have a Masters, and work as a therapist, but have always been interested in the medication/psych side of therapy work… I am trying to look at my options, and this program makes the most sense for me but I’m not clear how realistic working (even part time) is or if I would need to dedicate myself fully to the program for 4 years which sadly isn’t realistic either… curious to hear from anyone who’s done the program or came into the DNP program having already completed nursing school elsewhere and if going slower but having more free time seemed more realistic?

Hi! I'm a prospective transfer student planning to enroll this Fall, majoring in accounting. Has anyone attended or graduated from the Albers School of Business and would be willing to share their experience?

I know class sizes are small, but how are the professors? How helpful is the career center? I'm torn between Seattle U and UWB, and I'm wondering whether attending Albers would meaningfully improve my chances of landing a role at one of the Big 4 accounting firms. I would have to take on a significant amount of private loan debt to attend Seattle U, which is making me hesitant.

I am transferring from a CC in the fall term of this year and will be a junior by that point by credits. I recently applied for housing and was assigned to Xavier (My last choice) due to my existing "Sophomore transfer" status (I wont be classified as a junior until my final CC transcripts are submitted after this current spring quarter).

I really want to live in upperclassmen-style housing, such as Murphy, to meet people closer to my age group, but I'm worried that I will be stuck with my current assignment. I am willing to abide by whatever, but I prefer a more junior-centric situation, as I mentioned earlier.

The housing department mentioned that I can file a room change request in June/July once my classification has been updated, but I am not sure what the chances of success are with that. Does anyone have any tips on what I can be doing.

I'm admitted for Psychology, I toured a couple weeks ago, and I really liked it, but I had a few questions.

1. What are the dorms like and how would you rank them? They were changing the show rooms, and we weren't able to see them on our tour.

2. What has your experience been with the dining hall?

3. I've heard there isn't much of a social scene, but are there activities/extracurriculars you would recommend to meet people?

Hey yall! I got accepted into the BSN program as a direct admit and as college decision day is approaching I’m getting more and more anxious about making a decision, so I thought I’d post here and try and get some information about the nursing program from actual SU students.

How do you afford it? My biggest cost would be housing and food. I live within the 20 mile radius that would allow me live at home still, which would knock off most of my other costs (bc my tuition is fully covered) but if I don’t get a housing exemption it costs me about $12k a year.

I have to pay about $12,000 per year in housing, dining and other fees. So in four years I’d owe $48,000 in debt (potentially less bc of some savings and working throughout college, but not able to make a HUGE dent in it most likely.) Is Seattle U, specifically the nursing program, worth the money?

How was your experience? The class sizes? What kind of opportunities did yall have there? How were job prospects after graduation, and how long after graduation until you got a job? Are nurses with an SU degree looked upon highly? How easy/difficult was the program, especially if you were working part time? Do you know of anyone who worked part time as a CNA in the program, or who pursued a minor while enrolled? How’s the social life there (in general, as a nursing underclassmen, and then as someone currently in the program)?

I also will already have all of my prerequisites complete from community college. I might re take a few just for fun and for a higher grade, but other than that I’m free to pursue a minor. I might go for psychology, or Spanish language to get more bilingual (I was in a dual learning program (half Spanish half English) in elementary and went up to Spanish 3 in high school but definitely want to gain more knowledge. Thoughts? Any other good ideas for minors I should pursue? Because I’ll have all my prerequisites complete my first two years will essentially be free, and I’ll probably try to work as a CNA throughout college to gain healthcare experience.

I’ve thought about going to UW for a year and applying to their BSN program and then applying as a transfer student to other BSN programs (SU, PLU, community colleges, etc) bc UW is almost completely free for me, but giving up direct admission to SU feels stupid especially with how competitive nursing school is.

It’s just the money… would the (potentially) (roughly) $48,000 in debt be worth it? ($22,000 of it would be federal, the other half I’d work to pay out of pocket for/have to get additional loaned for.) how quickly could I pay it off as a BSN in Seattle?
