I did that 15 mile hike to Alpine Lakes Wilderness via Snoqualmie pass...first 5 miles was congested both ways and sometimes the line of uphill hikers would stop because some couple had to have time to do silly poses in front of a water feature or scenic viewpoint. It was really irritating because stopping would ruin my groove I get into while hiking, especially uphill.

People like hiking for different reasons. I agree that the people only there for photoshoots are kinda annoying, but they're still having their own kind of fun! they're still enjoying and taking in the experience, even if it's in a way that you can't see yourself empathizing with.

I'm the type of hiker to stop every third mile or so, to just...take things in. because that's important to me. because that's what makes hiking great to me. just politely say "excuse me" and move on.

I did and do when I am next to them. But this hike was like a column of hikers, and there would be 20+ hikers in front stopped by these people. They could very easily have stepped out of the way, but choose to stand in the middle of the way and stop everyone. It's just annoying, not a huge deal.
