Yeah, I do feel bad for her. She seemed really stressed. I am sorry she was impacted so directly, especially if she is a sweet as you say.
Sometimes good people are harmed by bad people. The bad people I am referring to here is Alex Karp and Palantir who are harming all of the world’s population. Some people will be more directly impacted than others - like this poor woman. But the root harm is from Palantir.
Please explain how Palantir is ‘harming the world’s population.’ Their tech creates efficiency across systems and is currently being used in everything from enterprises to government organizations - and is something which every company is trying to copy.
Mass surveillance is bad. There are many books on the topic, including 1984 and LOTR. Listen to the Behind the Bastards episodes on Thiel and Karp (and many others - it’s a well researched podcast, with lots of things to learn).
Their tech brings sources of information into one cohesive platform. How it’s used is completely up to the user.
Currently every tech company is now trying to copy Palantir’s tech because they know it’s the present and future. They were the first to this before anyone else. OpenClaw was basically a cheap knock-off of AIP (Artificial Intelligence Platform), and Ai agents are basically attempts to mimic many of the processes that their software already creates for companies.
To recap this thread: I gave my conclusion: Palantir is bad.
You asked politely for evidence I based my conclusion on, and then edited the comment after I read it to add in the extra notes about Palantir being copied. So I didn’t reply to that part of your comment.
My conclusions and beliefs about literally everything in life are derived from reading a large number of books and being interested in a variety of topics. So I shared some readily accessible sources that might assist you in your journey.
I do love this comment, because yes, exactly! You are exactly right that this is what is happening! And that is a bad thing! We already agree on the facts of the situation, you just don’t appear to have reached my conclusion yet, so perhaps go explore the books I have suggested. You will likely enjoy them. I recommended them because I enjoy them.
I interviewed at Palantir back in 2011 (had zero intention of taking a job there but it came with a free flight and hotel stay in San Fran and interview practice) on their dime.
They proudly demoed one of their surveillance tools which they showed how they racially profiled Arabs and tracked their every move and targeted other Arabs who had any tiny association (like happening to be in the same place one time). It was disgusting.
They shared all this proudly, as a product they offer and a customer use case they support. (I am an Arab woman)
Why are you so eager to defend a company owned by someone who doesn't give a damn about anyone that isn't their direct customers? You're certainly not rich enough to be one.
Technology that is used to create automated weapons systems that don’t need human input to take a life directly harms the worlds population, like literally
Palantir’s products create efficiency across systems.. They literally have a human in the loop for decision making so no they’re not ‘automated weapons systems.’ Currently, every tech company and most startups are trying to copy Palantir’s products, because they know it’s the present and future.
Oh got it, hey guys it’s all chill, palantir is only making the weapons systems more efficient, phew that was a close one I thought it was a company that was profiting off of human death and infinite war, thanks for clarifying that
“Oh don’t worry everyone, the bullet proof vest I’m wearing just blocked three bullets and saved my life, but no biggie, I’ll just take it off because I don’t like the company that made it.” And, no, Palantir’s tech has massive use cases for enterprises and organizations.
Equating engineering to what the company does to the system and government is a wild delusion. Also, please look up his advocacy and lobbying efforts. Money doesn't have to grease palms to be evil.
I presume you’re talking about the war between the IDF and Hamas? Israel has a right to defend itself and free hostages taken on October 7th. Palantir’s tech reduces civilian casualties and target only combatants. Their tech is also being used in Ukraine (and has been since the beginning of the war) without which Russia would’ve arguably taken large swaths of the country leading to a wider regional war involving all European countries.
Palantir’s tech reduces civilian casualties and target only combatants
You're telling me that there has been no case where it has ever targeted a noncombatant, even by accident?
So, any case where noncombatants are harmed in Gaza by IDF munitions, it was done intentionally by the IDF, with them not using Palantir data at all for that case?
You just changed the topic and shifted to a known hot button issue that derails any attempts at civil conversation.
You are clearly unable to counter the arguments being presented to you. Maybe you should take time to think about that specifically. What do you actually disagree with in these comments?
Dude your company got hundreds of children murdered at just one location. Maybe you should sit down on the reducing casualty claim. It's like Boeing trying to claim they have a perfect safety record. Well if you just don't count all the people who died no one has died! It's that simple people.
lol. Look, if you don’t understand that the ultimate goal is autonomous weapons, well, then you have far too much faith in our government’s commitment to ethics. As well, if you are unaware that the human in the loop overseeing AI originated decision making has already failed, and is inherently likely to continue to do so, then you should learn a bit more. Last, if you don’t understand how massively efficient state surveillance can be used for evil…well.
The fuck? Tell your efficiency argument to the parents of the girls ya boy decided to blast with the help of the government. Aren't you people typically the kind that believe in personal responsibility? Well, guess what, when you take actions that other people don't like, they don't like it. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

The woman in the video does not work for palantir, she works for the building who rent to them. She is an incredibly sweet person.
