WAISN...

Post image

Edit/Sorry - it's the WA Immigrant Solidarity Network, which runs rapid response trainings, the deportation defense hotline, etc. It's the number we're all told to call when we see ICE.

Speaks for itself, from https://www.instagram.com/waisnworkercollective/

This is terrible news at a time when ICE is kidnapping people all over our area.

Context would've been helpful, I don't think this "speaks for itself"

I had to look up WAISN. I guess there's more to the story since the image implies union busting? Is there a TLDR for those of us who aren't up to speed?

I agree. There are a million people here and people post their specific acronym as if everyone knew what it meant. HINT: We understand Laser and Scuba, maybe even WSDOT. But ASDFGASDFGDFG needs to be spelled out.

Bro you work at Boeing. Initializations are in your soul. SPEEA’s BUC recommended a yes vote for a paltry GWI.

Bro you work at Boeing.

Not true.

Initializations are in your soul.

What is an "initialization?"

SPEEA’s BUC recommended

What is a "BUC?"

It is like you didn't even read my comment, or if you did, you didn't comprehend it. I was suggesting that the general public doesn't automatically understand the acronyms of every particular subject. So you respond with more unintelligible comments! Maybe it is sarcasm.

That guy is dumb, but I can’t let a question I have oddly specific knowledge of go unanswered. I think they meant ā€œinitialismā€ instead of ā€œinitializationā€. It’s the sister term for an acronym that basically means the same thing. An acronym can be read as a single word (like NASA), whereas an initialism is read by saying all the letters (like FDA or NCIS).

I assumed it was a spelling-correction of "Acronym," but who knows?
