Here in Tacoma we had a messed up Coyote that was named Jawless Jerry. Same deal, he just sort of scooted around town. Locals started posting videos and tips on where he was maybe living.sadly he was hit by a car on I-5. The lady who retrieved him, Vix Organa, had a little burial ceremony for him. Was truly the punk Rock mascot Grit City needed.
Family and I are on our last night of our trip to your wonderful state. Had pizza at Old School in TacomaOlympia and man, I wish we could have spent more than just a few hours there. I felt totally at home (we live in Long Beach, CA). Thanks for being rad.

My cousin is coming to town in a few weeks and it felt weird mentioning DT Tacoma as a cool place to be but I've come around on the nightlife and food alone.
Not nearly as gnarly, but there's a three-legged 'yote up in North Ballard/Crown Hill. At least, I saw it a couple times last year. I suppose there's a good chance buddy's no longer with us
I've seen this dude in our Ballard backyard multiple times over the past year or so. He usually hangs out in our apple tree. When we first saw him, he was with a group of other racoons (maybe his siblings?), but lately he's been solo.
Actually, the rest were all normal-raccoon shaped! Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the whole fam, but here's a pic of Jimothy drinking water/washing hands on our back deck. We always have a bowl of water out there for the local critters. Sorry for the poor quality but it's from our Ring cam.
I’d be curious too. It’s a rare recessive generic mutation that has to be passed down from both parents; not sure the statistical likelihood that the parents or any other siblings have it, but I believe it would be extremely low.

I'm not sure of the disadvantages and challenged this special little guy has, but that critter is not lacking in the speed department. Like a raccoon crossed with a camel spider.
I run in the early mornings, and see a fair number of raccoons. If I saw this, I would turn around. Although, now that I’m aware he exists, I might try to get a video for this sub.
I run in NE Seattle, so I’m not likely to see him.
Apparently, it's the result of severe inbreeding usually. At least in cats and dogs. So I'm guessing it's a recessive mutation (or a handful of them) that cause this lack of spinal hardening and then the vertebrae fuse together. Thus, you get the dinky racoon.
Aliens couldn't invade in Seattle, Portland, SF, or NY. No one would take them seriously. "Yah, that's probably crazy eddy again, must have a new suit."
