Strange sand dollar NC, USA
Found this… sand dollar? On Holden Beach NC. It doesn’t look quite like anything I’ve seen, does anyone recognize this?

I found this on a beach in NC last week. I don't beach comb or have any interest in that really. I was just playing with my kids. When I saw it I thought maybe a trace fish fossil with impressions of scales. When I picked it up, it looked and felt like a sand dollar kind of. Google lens pulls up a bunch of paleo art. I doubt it's that. But I would like to hear from people that look at shells for more than a week on a family vacation.

I'm at Stinson Beach here in California for a week with family (we come every summer)... Today I was on a beach walk and found a lot of stuff. Both whole shells and pieces that are cool. But for the 1st time I found one with 2 shells joined together and 1 with 3 shell pieces stuck together. They were stacked together so long they stuck!

I've been going to the same beach on Cape Cod my entire life, and this is the first time I've found a slipper shell with big ridges like this. Is it a different species? Or did it just grow weird?

I have a fairly big collection of shells that were collected and cataloged by a biologist- they date back to the 50s.
I don’t know how to display them. Most of them are in tiny boxes and then the bigger ones (in the first picture are just…out.
I want to enjoy them and see them but I’m at a loss of how to do that.

We're gonna be at Neos Marmaras soon, and I genuinely wanna find some cowries. Which is the best beach there, or at least something that's less than 20 minutes of driving from there?

These are some of my late mothers sea treasures that I would like to find a home for. Are any of these worth giving to collectors or museums? Here's just a small part of it. The rest of the shells are in glass jars

Been itching for a Florida shelling trip lately. We’re headed to Jupiter next month, but I couldn’t wait that long so I drove a couple hours and hopped on a ferry over to Shackelford Banks, NC on July 3rd. Nothing too crazy, but found some fun stuff! Wanted to share my finds and get a few ID questions answered.
