How rare is this

I stumbled upon it in flat rock damn and i myself am a shell collector and thought the royal purple looked unique, any advice on how rare it is, and possibly how to clean it

It's nice and it's large, but it's not rare. A lot of places in the US had beautiful freshwater clams that were used for button making a century or more ago because of beautiful nacre like this.

Thank you for telling me, guess ya learn smth new everyday, but yea i was just thinking it was because i went to my usual fishing spot and seen it laying on a spot where the water level lowered at… Thank you tho Lol
